We loved this beautiful hotel on Flatey island. It is a bed and breakfast, you have your own room and shared toilet and shower. Small but cosy in a very old but beautifully renovated house. The breakfast was wonderful. The ambiance was wonderful. The island was wonderful, no... magical. The lunch was fish and chips for me and my wife had the loval herring platter from the island. Both were phenomenal. After ealking the island and admirering the bird life we had some drinks at the Salt cellar and then dinner that night at the hotel. I had a wonderful blue ling as fresh as ever and my wife had mussels fresh from Breiðarfjörður that she described as the best ever (she loves mussels and is a connoisseur). The day after we had a gumbo (ja ja) with chicken made by the cook that eorks in New Orleans This is mu favorite place in Iceland to travel, relax and enjoy good fooda

Completly unique. A well kept, well staffed little oasis. One has the time and sapce to sense what this isalnd is, to take the time to experince it and stop, look, breathe and explore. Beautifully restored, the food is exquisite, a pearl off the beaten path.

Incredibly charming hotel. It's a very old renovated house, and that comes with some limitations like shared toilet, showers and sound carries between floors - but nothing to complain about. Dinner and lunch were absolutely amazing, but breakfast is pretty light. The hotel staff is incredibly lovely and helpful and I can't fault them for the service, although I would have loved to see a bit of effort from some of the staff on learning and conversing in Icelandic. Great hotel in a great place, highly recommend!

We booked two rooms in January 2023 for August 2023. Although there is - according to the terms- no possibility for the Hotel to cancel the reservation, they did it - without giving any reason. This destroyed our planning for a round Trip significantly. The Hotel announced that it would give a compensation but did Not come back with a proposal and ignored all correspondene. Very disappointing behaviour. You can‘t trust their booking confirmations. It seems that they treat them as options

I wish we had stayed longer! So peaceful and quiet, a beautiful walk around the island. Food was incredible and rooms were lovely. There's not much to do, expect "be", so I'm glad this was toward the end of our trip after many days of go-go-go. Perfect endcap. We brought a few games and just slowed down.

This review is for food and drinks only, not accommodation, based on a long, 9 hr day trip, via Baldur ferry. Super-classy restaurant and hotel, fantastic lounge bar, situated in an old-timey N-Atlantic island (think 1973 movie Wicker Man) , super-good dinner menu, great halibut and divine, fresh scallops. Drink menu during happy hour was great as well. Staff was absolutely fantastic. The surroundings were unreal, nice, sunny day, sheep roaming everywhere...really can't praise this island high enough. An absolute must, if you're staying in the Breidafjorfur area. Thank you all so much! Will definitely come back ASAP.

We were fetched (our luggage) at the ferry harbour. The cake, the dinner and the breakfast was delicious. We got needful infos from the owner, who was very polite. I can recommend the hotel indeed! The island is a good place to be!!
