We were first given a room that had not been cleaned. Then we got a new room and it was terrible. Black mold in the bathroom at the floor by the tub. dust everywhere. The room hasn't received a good cleaning in MONTHS. The carpet was stained in many spots. Lamp was broken. Desk chair was damaged. The free breakfast was a joke. The Biscuit was hard and the sausage was burnt. This place needs to be closed down. Only gave a 1 star because i had to pick something.

We had the UNFORTUNATE pleasure of staying in this hotel!!! Price was great BUT you definitely get/or not get what you pay for!!!! This place was absolutely DISGUSTING!!! The lobby appeared somewhat clean, and definitely had very strong air fresheners…AND IT NEEDED IT!! To cover up the FILTHY AND STINKY ROOMS!! The room had not been updated or throughly cleaned since this place was built years ago! The smell of mold and mildew was overwhelming!! Even 1/2 of a large bottle of Fibreze didn’t put a dent into it! The curtains (cloth and plastic) were yellow from cigarette smoke residue. The lamp shades were also covered in old cigarette smoke residue. The carpets were damp and smelled…mold/mildew/pet odors. There were black/burnt electrical outlets and jerry-rigged electrical outlets. We were afraid to plug anything in. The bathroom…. Words couldn’t describe. So pictures will be attached. The ONLY good thing about the bathroom was there was plenty of hot water. If we could have turned around and left and not of been charged we would have. CHOICE HOTEL CORPORATION SHOUKD BE ASHAMED OF THE CONDITION OF THIS HOTEL. WE WILL NEVER AGAIN STAY IN ANY CHOICE HOTEL BRAND…NEVER!!!

This was a return trip for us. Great location and price. Check in staff very friendly. Breakfast had many options. Lobby is small but the hotel is only two stories. Yes, the room was worn but clean. Reported two room issues to the front desk (light and refrigerator) and staff made a note to house keeping. We did stay two nights. Our bed was made the following day. I had forgotten to request this at check in. Some of the bigger chains will not make beds or provide extra linens unless you request. Because of the location we would stay here again.

Let me start off by saying I have stayed at this property since I was a kid, this used to be a Comfort Inn. This at one time was the best option to stay at in Florence, I have relatives in Florence and I visit Florence very often, 2-3 times a year. For my last couple of visits to Alabama I have stayed at the HIExpress next door to this place but they are booked out a lot of times, and run higher rates than the Quality, so this is a great option if you are on a budget. Ive seen this hotel go thru several renovations. I have read some of the reviews for this motel and I honestly can say this motel is not nearly as bad as they say in my opinion. Staff here is always very helpful and friendly. My last stay before this was in 2016 I have another review for this location. Anyway my stay here in March 2022 was pretty good, I will admit the lobby is a little small and cramped, and is decorated a little cheaply, but that isn't really a problem, they have free breakfast. This hotel used to have very good breakfast. The Hallways are kinda dark, and you seem to have a rougher crowd that stays here, it seemed like there was a fight in the hallway one night that I was there. The rooms are a little worn but the bed frame and furniture are newer, but the room I got had a very stained couch. The bed was very comfortable tho. They have an outdoor pool and a fitness room as well as meeting rooms and a laundry room. Yes, the hotel is old, and its age shows, there are some shady characters that hang around, but I still think this is a good place to spend a couple of nights. I have a lot of good memories staying at this little motel.

Tried staying here this trip instead of slightly more expensive and recently renovated Choice Suites across the Highway. From now on I will gladly pay the extra $10-15 for friendly staff and cleaner hotel. At checkin, I had to call desk person on phone to come in from smoke break, he wasn’t friendly. First room he gave me was not cleaned. Bed has been used and dirty towels everywhere. Second room was a little better. Bedspread had stains and whole room had musty smell. TV worked and AC worked but shower made high pitch squeal and everything was worn and used. Couch had stains so was afraid to sit on it.

I really wanted this to be a great experience. The hotel is in a great part of town and it is next to great hotels. This hotel is supposed to be 100% smoke free, but I smelled smoke in the hallways. The bathroom was disgusting. I wish I would have taken pictures of it, but I was so stressed by everything that it didn’t enter my mind until after we checked out. For reference, we stayed on the first floor, last room on the right. I can’t remember the number. The shower looked like it was from the 90s and like it hadn’t been updated in years. Luckily, this hotel was near my family’s house, so we just showered there. The mini shampoo bottles looked like they had been previously used, but I feel like the the staff said “oh no one will notice” and they put it back on the counter for the next guests. The wall outlets were literally hanging off the darn walls. Such a safety hazard. The AC/heater unit is incredibly loud. The people above us sounded like they were practicing for a dancing competition. The hotel was loud in general, you could hear everything outside the door. Oh my favorite thing, walking from the bathroom back to the bed at night, with the lights off, was an adventure. I’m surprised I didn’t knock myself out a few times turning that corner. Not really a complaint, just kind of funny at this point. There was a recliner in the room. It was a dark fabric with quite a few white stains on it. We didn’t touch it. At least the room had a microwave and a mini fridge. Our mini fridge wasn’t working, or it was unplugged or something. My boyfriend swears that it was plugged up, but luckily the maintenance person was able to fix it. FYI: I guess due to the big Rona, they don’t serve a hot breakfast. I think that they just have some breakfast sandwiches and some pastries maybe. Also, our stay was under my boyfriend’s name and email, but I’m writing the review on TripAdvisor under my name and email. Our stay was from 2/11 until 2/13. Like I said, we were in the last room on the right on the first floor. I don’t want anyone from the hotel to clap back saying that I never stayed there because my email or whatever doesn’t match what their system says. My advice to the owner and the manager/management of this hotel: -Please invest the money into updating this hotel. Yes, it is a Quality Inn, but that doesn’t mean that this specific hotel cannot be up to the standards of other Choice Hotel properties. The Comfort Suites across the street from this hotel looks more inviting on the outside than this hotel. -Please shampoo the carpets. -Please shampoo the recliners in the rooms. -Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, please fix the wall outlets in the rooms. -Please invest the money into buying new AC units or at least fixing them. -Please, please, please update the bathrooms. -Please clean the bathrooms. -Please scrub the grim and dirt off the walls in the rooms. -Please add better lighting in the hallways. This place is now cleaner because I stayed there. Yuck! Don’t let the foyer fool you, the rooms are caked in dust, stains, & crud. I sticky-rolled thick dust off off lamp shades & surfaces. I did a full wipe down of the room. Damp & slightly smelly. One pillow case & sheet had huge brown stains. Gunk on the ceiling. I don’t need luxury, but CLEAN shouldn’t be negotiable. Just care! Please, care that actual real humans, just like you stay here! Upon, leaving, I completely *****ped the beds, & tossed everything in the bathroom to hopefully FORCE the staff to have to clean/wash their hotel. Especially unacceptable for over $100/night. Noise was also an issue.
