Hotel Cardinal of Florence - Recommended for Ages 25 to 55

Avoid at all costs. No AC functioning! No elevator. Reception closes early. No way to reach anyone. Poor and rude management.

I couldn’t be happier with my stay at the Cardinal. Staff were extremely helpful, the room was great and was within easy access to every thing I was looking for!

The room was very clean. The hotel staff were very nice people. However, our room was directly next to a loud bar that was open until 2AM each night. And it didn’t quiet down until 2:30AM. Most of the bar patrons are in the alley directly in front of the hotel. I wasn’t able to sleep until this time every night. I was left tired and behind schedule during my entire trip. Additionally, there is no elevator since the hotel is a heritage sight. You will need to climb 3-4 flights of stairs each time you leave and reenter as an fyi. The rooftop view of the hotel was the highlight of the stay. There are free cappuccinos which were great.

A truly amazing stay! From the kind greeting upon arrival, to clean rooms and very kind staff, this place is definitely worth the stay. It has a great location, which despite being on a more lively street, is very secure and soundproof. They offer endless free water, juice and coffee during your stay and a gorgeous rooftop with clear views of the entire city (including the duomo). This is the only place I would want to stay in Florence, I will for certain return to this beautiful establishment.

Loved the terrace outside, especially during the sunset. The one thing that I didn’t like, though is that there is no elevator so we had to carry all of our suitcases up over four flights of stairs other than that it was pretty good besides for the fact that the walls are very thin, so we heard everything I even heard the man next-door snoring, and sometimes we would hear the people outside, but other than that the bed was really comfy. It was clean. The bathroom was nice and it was a good location. It was close to everything.

The staff is rude and doesn’t greet people at the desk. Don’t book this hotel if your flight lands in the evening as they will charge you hidden fees and when the reception closes. You have to pay in cash for the late fees, 20 euros per hour and they don’t accept card for that. Looks like some undeclared business to pay someone to wait for guests at reception. Avoid this place!

Giuseppe checked us in he was incredibly helpful and gave us a map of all the tourist spots to see! There was always water and juice available and the sunrise on the rooftop was so worth it! Although there is a tall climb to the get to the room if you are able to, it’s worth it!! We loved our stay and highly reccomend!

Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Beds were comfy. Rooms a little noisy since there’s a popular bar right below the hotel. We missed seeing in the description that this hotel is on the third floor and there’s no elevator! Also our room had only a bath with hand held shower head nozzle which wasn’t the best experience. Location is good.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff are wonderful - very helpful and friendly. There’s a great terrace on the roof and you can take up snacks and drinks. The stairs are a bit of a killer but the hotel is definitely worth the workout!
