The hotel is picturesque, and the lake views from the rooms are stunning. The rooms feature a spa bathtub. After completing your Tikal itinerary, I highly recommend spending a day at this hotel. The beautiful scenery, delicious food, and warm, attentive service make it a perfect place to relax and get a full rest.

A superior property with a detailed oriented friendly staff. We were there for six nights and and we were glad we selected this property. Amenities were top class - we booked two excursions thru them - Tikal, Yaxha with their excellent guide, Sergio. In addition they arrange a trip to El Mirador which lived up to the adventure. They don't miss any details. Elmer and Alex were among their food and beverage staff that were a good as those at any five star property.

This place was magical and the pictures don’t do it justice! The service is incredible, the scenery is amazing, and there is much attention to detail. We feel like we discovered a gem in the forest! The food was so wonderful and creative, too! Our family (2 arults, 2 children-9, 12) were never bored and never wanted to leave! There were so many helpful and wonderful people, that I cannot name all of them. We had Ovidio and Alex several times in the restaurant and both were great! Selvin (and others!) were so intentional in remembering our names. Luis, Cesar and Bryan up front were kind and helpful. Unfortunately we had a sick child one night that ended in a messy room, but were met with kindness and helpfulness. We would love to rerun one day!

Besides the beauty and calm of Las Lagunas it was the personal touch that mattered. From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff knew who we were by name and were polite and considerate. Each cabin was an oasis. Furnishings and art work were top classs. The restaurant on the deck was both enchanting and had excellent food.

There is just nothing negative to say about this property or its staff, who we will name for their excellence. We contacted the property in June, 2025 for a stay in February, 2026. The trip was a present to celebrate a birthday. Right off the bat, Brayam spent a very significant amount of time communicating with us to suggest the best room for our celebration. He was most responsive before and during our stay. There was a slight hiccup in the room assignment when the Hotel changed the numbering of the rooms. However, Carlos, the Front Desk Manager, stepped in and solved the problem in a heartbeat making sure we had the promised room-Number One-which indeed it is. One of the highlights was waking up very early and seeing the hundreds of Egrets flying across the Lagoon starting their day. At the same time you could hear the howling of the Monkeys on Monkey Island-directly across from our room. Then it was off to the incredible breakfast sitting outside looking at the Lagoon while being assisted by the rock star of the property-Elmer. Elmer is a real charmer, incredibly intent on providing excellent service, and very knowledgeable about everything from restaurants, to transportation, to, well, everything. We were delighted when he accompanied us to the incredible private collection of Mayan Art to give us an introduction. He stayed long enough to orient us, and then thoughtfully left us to explore the over the top private collection. If you are lucky enough to go there you will undoubtedly meet him as well as the other terrific personalities in Hector, Alex and the rest. And then, there was the free boat trip to Monkey Island and around the Lagoon, the 5 course dinner on the private pier, the bicycles and kayaks, the private hot tub, plus the cleanliness of the room refreshed impeccably each day….

Las Lagunas is HEAVEN ON EARTH. There's a good reason why you see 100's of 5 star 🌟 reviews for this Hotel. It is simply put, EXCEPTIONAL. Where to start.. the hotel itself is gorgeous and the minute you step inside, are greeted with cool towels, drinks and smiling faces to welcome you in. The grounds are immense and private and absolutely breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL. The main Hotel and restaurant are straight out of a romantic, vintage movie that is very pleasing to the eyes and your weary body and stresses from traveling will almost immediately MELT AWAY as you begin to settle in and realize that you did indeed make a great choice for your vacation stay. My wife does all the planning for trips and had been showing me for MONTHS information about Las Lagunas Boutique Hotel. I was sold on the idea of staying there. But let me tell you, those feelings intensify 1,000,000 times more when you step into Las Lagunas. You are instantly tucked away in the jungle, very exclusive, very private and with all the amenities you could need. An immense lake, which could pass as the ocean for us coastal people, made me feel at home. And then you add, tropical plants, trees, flora & fauna.... it is a dream. Again, like straight out of a movie, you are transported back in time and to a place that is a secret to most of the world. You'll wake up in the morning, in a BEAUTIFUL room, with the sun coming up, pink rays of sunlight touching your windows that overlook Lago Peten Itza. If you choose to open the large windows to your room, you'll be greeted by Black Howler Monkeys! The sounds blew us away and we instantly fell in love with our new, somewhat distant friends (they reside mainly across the lake from the Hotel). "Monkey Island" is the local name for it and you can actually take an excursion with hotel staff on a boat to visit these guys. What you'll probably encounter mostly though are the hilarious and very curious and gentle Spider Monkeys! I highly recommend doing this. Only takes an hour. My family loved it so much and I will not reveal a spoiler here. So, you gotta go and find out! Our room was out-of-this world SPECTACULAR. Our boys had their own room, equally beautiful and spacious. The rooms have a full sized spa and reliable A/C that keeps you cool day and night. We experienced a lightning storm one night (we will return during storm season if possible. Our bed was so comfortable, which is a HUGE ISSUE and deal breaker for me because of my back issues. I honestly may have slept better and more comfortably in this room than at home, embarrassingly so. You'll love to walk the grounds. Walking trails, bridges and paths surround the hotel. A lot of the flora is labeled and few with some local history added as well. But let me explain now, the most BEAUTIFUL part of our entire experience at Las Lagunas - the STAFF. Amazing, attentive, friendly, helpful, and some seriously tender hearted, GOOD PEOPLE. They were ALL amazing. Not one single mishap, miscommunicat

Wonderful setting. Individual private lodges nestled next to the lagoon- you feel as though you are alone. The hotel is beautifully decorated- contemporary, clean lines with great views. Ditto the pool. A real highlight are all the staff who make an effort to learn guests names, provide personalised service and are unfailingly friendly and helpful

As part of our trip around Guatemala, this hotel was a highlight. The rooms are clean and well air conditioned. Staff is extremely friendly - especially Elmer, our breakfast waiter. The food was fantastic and over the course of our stay, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner so we tried it all. After a hot day in Tikal, knowing there was extremely cold beer and a hearty meal available was a welcome treat. Definitely check out the monkeys. Truly enjoyed every aspect of the hotel.
