Best Hotels in Floriana, Malta

Stayed for 7 nights in a deluxe room on 10th floor. Check in was easy and very efficient. Room was large with a decent balcony. Bathroom had separate shower and bath. Not very many electric points and no USB charging points. Overall the room was good but in need of modernising. We had an issue with knocking from the water pipes ( not in our room) for our whole stay. Breakfast was plentiful, but limited options for vegetarian and even less for vegan choice. Pool area was great, with lots of loungers and shaded areas. Staffing at the pool bar seemed to be a bit hit or miss, one day 6 staff, the next day 2. Service at the hotel bar was also an issue on a few occaisions, mainly when there were conference groups. The location of the hotel was great, but not for those who would struggle with stairs. Overall great location, but faded granduer and some staffing issues

We've just returned from spending four days at the Rosselli. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. There were many positives and one or two comments from previous guests which point out areas where things could be improved and ones which we probably tend to agree with. The biggest positives were the majority of the staff, particularly the breakfast staff. They were attentive, very pleasant and worked extremely well as a team. Others working in and around the hotel were friendly, helpful and very discrete. Standards of professionalism, dress and presentation from all were very high indeed. Our room (a pleasantly surprising upgrade) was somewhat unusual in design and decoration but it was very well presented and ALWAYS well serviced by the domestic staff. The general decor of the hotel was a pleasing mix of modern and traditional and the sheer height of what must have been the central courtyard of the original building was stunning. However, in our opinion, the lounge area failed to match up with the entrance and reception areas in terms of a**osphere and tradition. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast outside on all four mornings of our stay and could not find fault with the selection, standard or presentation of the food. As previously mentioned, it was served in style, with a smile and a chat about the day. Excellent! We had dinner at Grain Outside on one occasion and were left feeling rather confused as to what we were expected to choose. Having settled for a traditional three courses of starter, main and desert, we felt that the staff were somewhat perplexed that we hadn't ”shared” or gone down the line they had been trained to suggest. We like to make our own choices in a relaxed a**osphere. Having a son who owned and obviously worked in a Michelin recognised restaurant in England, we have experienced food and service of a very high standard. However, we did feel that we were being led to where we didn't wish to go. We enjoy modern, simple, good quality food in a proper but relaxed setting.nf Unfortunately, Grain Street wasn't really for us. Outside of the hotel was noisy, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. We were in the middle of a vibrant capital city and tourist destination, what else could we expect? Perhaps it says a great deal about everything good about the hotel that we ”old grumpies” didn't let it bother us and we went to sleep looking forward to the next morning, a lovely breakfast and a new venture. All in all, a wonderful stay in a special hotel if somewhat busy but splendid Valletta. A special place - hotel and city.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. The original Victoria Hotel was closed for a while and was tied up in a new hotel next door (PALACE). I heard that it is a hotel operated in the same place as PALACE. You must have just been lucky. Ligament opposite the church. The facilities were really good. Breakfast was also dinner, but dinner and taste were delicious in the 9th floor lounge. The view was beautiful. It's a pity that all the pictures haven't been uploaded. There is a large supermarket right around the corner. The bus stop was also a 5-10 minute walk. The people at the desk were kind. There was no problem with staying in Jegicho English. The lounge on the 9th floor is highly recommended (Thai beef salad around 9 euros) Beach sandals and towels can be purchased at a reasonable price at a store near the beach, so it was a place where you can enjoy swimming in the water casually even if you come empty-handed. 我原来预定的宾馆是暂停营业,据说,这家PALACE酒店和我原来预定的酒店(Victoria)?开业的, 属于高档的。 Former Taiwanese 员很热情, 我预定的房间是带阳台的, 房间又大又干净, 属于大又干净, 里面严个述述, 早鸥热情.的公交车站用不了10分钟, 也就是海边,走到哪里都是完美的景点。这家附近有大型超市, 购物也很方便。

Decided to book here for a night because of nearby construction work near our holiday rental. The hotel is a little unassuming from the outside, but inside it was evident that the hotel has gone through some redevelopment from previous years as reception and the lobby was small but very modern. The receptionist was friendly and even show us to our room. We were based on the first floor on a basement level room with a double bed. However considering the fact that things were last minute,we didn’t complain too much and we got a decent night sleep . The room was clean and fairly stylish and air con worked properly too. Only downside was no coffee making facilities in room. However, coffee and water was free in the lobby all day, alongside free biscuits. The inside pool is small, but styled well into the bottom of the cave cellar and perfect for a dip. We would have booked a slot in the jacuzzi if we had more time. The breakfast was pretty simple buffet continental, but still offered hot options and cold as well as juice and coffee. Overall, a fairly good experience both with atmosphere and service.

Returned 2 weeks ago after a wonderful week saying at The Palace Hotel. It took a long time to decide where to stay in Malta given the enormous choice and yet very mixed reviews, however I was really pleased we settled on The Palace. I did 1 less star for 'value', but this wasn't just in relation to The Palace as I thought generally hotel's in Malta were definitely on the pricier side. The room was lovely with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen and we had some lovely touches such as a daily visit from hospitality asking if we needed anything, and a bottle of filtered water changed daily. An excellent idea and far better than the frequent plastic bottles and subsequent waste. We also arrived on my husband’s birthday and quite unexpectedly in the evening, a lovely birthday cake was delivered to our room! From our initial greeting at reception with a lovely local drink and onwards, we had a brilliant service from every single member of staff. They were all very helpful and yet not intrusive. In particular lovely Puja in the wonderful TemptAsian’ restaurant, and Dhilip who served us both by the pool and at the ground floor Talk of the Town restaurant. Both were extremely knowledgeable and gave sound advice regarding choice of meals and suitable local wines. As we like to try local restaurants when we go away, we chose the bed and breakfast option however we were so impressed with the lovely rooftop TemptAsian restaurant we ate there twice. We then went for the buffet in the Talk of the Town restaurant on our last night, where we again had an excellent service from Dhilip, and where the food was well presented and excellent value for money. Sliema is a busy place with lots of hotels, and as other reviewers have stated, The Palace was within the centre of the peninsula, so although it wasn’t in the most picturesque road, given its proximity to all public transport, the ferry and bus stops including the ‘hop on/off’, we felt there was no necessity to hire a car. We did the short ferry over to Valletta many times and a bonus for us was a considerable ‘over 60’ concession. We managed to cram a lot in during our week in Malta from the numerous museums, tombs, caves and other historical places, in addition to exploration of the island on both the north and south hop on/off buses and brief trip to Gozo. I’m not sure we could not have done quite so much had we not been in such an ideal location. The other bonus was on the days we were back in time, having a swim in the gorgeous rooftop pool, and the Happy hour cocktails between 3 and 5 pm. Highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay in Malta.

It was simply perfect ! The hotel is beautiful, central with the terrace of your dreams ! Thank you to all the staff of the hotel who was lovely! The 3 reception staff was incredibly kind, helpful and made us feel at home. The breakfast team was perfect to start the day with and the restaurant waiters made the evenings very pleasant (to the Argentinian waiter, the recommended oil and sfogliata were wonderful - I couldn't wait the evening, and thank you for the jazz recommendation which I hope we can try next time!). And most importantly, thank you to the incredible room service team who made wonders everyday in a record time.

This is such a treat, to write about a hotel we loved. This truly is made so special by the staff, from the top to the bottom. Fabulous attitudes to guests from the staff, the reception team are super welcoming . Rooms are modern and spacious , some boast sea views. Breakfast was as good as any , without a 'Four seasons 'price tag. And when the General manager offers you a coffee as he sees that breakfast was busy!!! We were blown away, normally everyone is busy so you get ignored not here. Margaux restaurant is great use of the space in the evening , saves going out. Great cocktails served in the bar in the evening at great prices. Stand out member of staff was Petra on reception. Great view from the beach front bar.

Really lovely hotel. Clean. Great location. Close enough to all the great attractions and shops but far enough from all the noise so you still get a great night's sleep. Fantastic service from everyone at Hyatt from the receptionists (Ben and I didn't get the name of the lady who worked with him but I think it may have been Laura?) to the doorman Hoque. Would highly recommend. PS lovely sunset from the 11th floor where the pool is
