Fairfield Inn & Suites Louisville East

Terrible hotel in the Marriott chain! I was first given an ADA room without even being asked if I was okay withy this type room. After entering the room I had to go back to the front desk and ask for another non ADA room. The parking was empty and the reply I received was, " well I may have to up grade you." Really?? I'm not disabled. I do not want to take those rooms away from those who really need them. TV is non existent. Ziltch! Cannot get reception at all. When I asked the front desk about the TV, their response was. Well, it's internet TV, oh well. The hotel is in bad need of an upgrade. I usually stay in Marriott brand hotel but lately this is typical of many. Time to check out Hilton Honors.

I had a decent review (in mind) for this hotel. That until I was awaken at 6:40 in the morning by a maintenance guy trying to enter my room. Despite the fact I had a “no disturb” sign placed at the door, this guy tried to enter and if I didn’t have the lock on, I would wake up with him inside my room. So, after all the noise of the door hitting the lock a couple of times, I jumped out of the bed and confronted the person outside. That’s when I found out it was a maintenance employee that only said sorry and almost ran away. One would think this is the worst part of the story but to me it was the customer service I got after the fact. So, I went to the front desk searching for a manager and got directed to a “senior clerk” (the manager wasn’t available that early). This guy made me repeat the story at least twice in a very infantile manner (so “he could understand”). He then proceeded with an extremely condescending approach (language wise to start with) and then escalated to the “these things happen” argument (appalling really). He eventually apologized (as the minimum expected) but honestly, his approach not only didn’t remedy the situation at all and made things even worst.

Staff was very welcoming. Room was very clean, spacious and bed was very comfortable! Recommend this hotel!

Very nice hotel... staff great! Did have tv problems but they were fixed while we were out to dinner. Room was very clean and the area we were in had lots of choices for restaurants. Also convenient access to the interstate. We will definitely be back again.

Overall the hotel was great and the staff friendly and helpful. The only thing I thought could be improved on was the breakfast. It was never hot, the quality of the produce wasnt great and had to use plastic cutlery and paper plates! Definitely room for improvement.

The rooms are nice but the service was bad. We stayed a week and had to go after towels 3 times. The last time there weren't enough to go around. It wasn't just us because the guy ahead of me took the last towels available. Their breakfast was really good though.

The pool was closed due to the health department closing it. We have a young child that looks forward to swimming when we stay at a hotel. He was very sad and even cried. It would have been nice to be informed before checking in. Also the fridge did not work at all. All our food and drink became warm.

Our stay was great except for the breakfast attendant. When we checked in the staff person at the front desk told us twice that breakfast was opened from 6 am-10 am. We went to breakfast at 9 am and a very surly attendant told us it closed at 9 am. With a bad attitude, she grudgingly gave us 2 plates. I asked for a bowl for cereal. She was not happy with that. When I asked for a spoon, she really went off and started dumping boxes until she came to spoons. I was nice to her but her attitude was very rude! Everyone else was great! We usually use this hotel yearly when we visit family in Louisville for Thanksgiving. I am not sure we will use it again!
