On our last night of a 4 day tour we stayed at this hotel, wish we could have stayed longer. Wasn’t sure about it when we’re driving up the road to it but pleasantly surprised once we got there. We were met by very friendly co-owner and the staff. The bar, restaurant and rooms were highly comfortable and clean. Every where you turn, the staff was there to help in anyway they could. The menu had a wide variety of options and all the meals were first rate. If you have the good fortune of staying at this hotel, you will enjoy it. If not then you are very hard to please.

Many thanks to the team for a quality lunch and the exceptional, friendly service - 3 generations all made to feel very welcome. Look forward to returning and will be recommending accommodation to friends & colleagues too based on the lovely team.

Cycling round the area, I decide to stay at Knockomie again, and wasn't disappointed. The team and the hotel were on top form, and made me feel very welcome. All the meals I had were great and a few Drams after dinner made me a little late one morning! Heading up to the coast just a stones throw away, the air is so clean and fresh its like drinking an ice cold glass of water, and with so many places to visit its a cycling nirvana. I had a puncture and needed to do some minor repairs and the owner had a high level bike stand he let me borrow. A great little inn, cant wait to go back.

Trying to give local hotel some business, despite unable to sit in. Freezing outside, it is only 1 May, and this is Scotland. Chose what looked like warmest table. List of instructions on small table, sanitiser, QPR Code, all a put-off. Daughter reluctant as 'freezing'. Went to sit down, manager in mask (outside!) proceeds to start reeling off list of conditions, including QPR code. I point out we are OUTSIDE breathing God's fresh air. Daughter, brainwashed by the school and media, takes umbrage and walks off. Afternoon ruined. Hotel just lost local business and reputation. Hospitality needs to get a grip, it is dead in the water. 'Hospitality' means something, it means comfort, warmth, relaxation. What kind of a 'hospitality' experience was that? And why are they doing QPR codes outside? It is God's fresh air, nae limits. Hospitality is finished.

A very friendly hotel serving good food for dinner and sensibly-sized breakfasts. The fields either side of the driveway are turning into yet another new housing estate, but you wouldn't know this when you reach the hotel itself. Pet-friendly too, which is a bonus. We'll be back next time we need accommodation in the Forres area.

This hotel is struggling due to lack of staff and the fact they are building a housing estate around it. This is a shame as it was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms large and well equipped though could do with a little TLC and better lighting. Food good and ample portions.

Disappointing breakfast. We were handed 5 forms on arrival to pre order Breakfast for our entire stay! To say the servings were sp**** is an understatement. On the first morning my breakfast consisted of one rasher of bacon, half of a grilled tomato, scrambled egg and two small triangles of (barely toasted) toast. Given that I had not wanted sausage, black pudding and mushrooms, I expected a more generous portion of bacon, egg and tomatoes. I requested more toast and on the 2nd day I asked for more bacon and tomato. I got two rashers and two half tomatoes for the remaining days. Rooms not serviced daily ( I requested the bathroom to be cleaned on the 3rd morning of our 5 night stay and this was done, but our bed wasn’t made up). On 4th day bathroom was cleaned again and this time the bed was made up! Other than that our room wasn’t serviced and we had to make requests for towels, toiletries etc which were hung in a plastic bag on the handle outside our room door. Not the homely atmosphere I had expected. No feeling of relaxed or homely ambience anytime throughout our stay. Certainly not what I expected for £165 per night. We had spent two nights in a 4*hotel immediately before our stay at Knockomie Inn which cost £100 a night and the service, ambience and quality of food was excellent in comparison to Knockomie Inn I wouldn’t recommend the Knocomie Inn to anyone.
