Took us a while to select this hotel. The month of May apparently is when the prices begin to ramp up. We had a good stay here. I was in Room 409 which is on the ground floor that looks towards the old rail bridge park. Standard king room with a refrigerator and coffee maker. The motel supplies a breakfast. TV came with HBO. The good: The room was clean and had a great view towards the park. Great sunsets. The bed was comfortable. Flat screen tv with HBO. Refrigerator worked very well. The bathroom supplied shampoo and soap (little bar soaps which are becoming rare for motels/hotels) The motel is a little outside of downtown. There is a Denny's that is in walking distance. The motel supplied a breakfast every day. The coffee was great. Waffle maker, cereal, breads, yogurt, scrambled eggs and sausages. The menu did not vary. The motel has an indoor pool, but we did not use the pool. Plenty of parking. The bad: The internet was very spotty and slow. In desperation I turned off the wi-fi and used my cellular data which was a lot faster. This becomes an issue when you are using your phone to search for dinner or lunch. If you are approaching the motel from Fort Bragg and see a sign that says Motel in 700 feet. Don't take that as a suggestion, it's a fact. The entrance is not very visible. When you do turn into the motel, stay to the right. The left road goes to a mobile home park. The motel is very close to Highway One so you will hear road noise. This is something that effects most of the hotels/motels so don't think that this motel is an exception. On my last night I left the window open so I could hear some ocean sounds. I woke up a few times that night because of the road noise. I could not hear the neighbors to my left or right. Unfortunately the building is made of wood so I could hear my upstairs neighbor walking around at all hours of the night. Fortunately for me after Saturday the room above me was empty. Other than the Denny's down the street you will have to drive to where ever you want to eat. Take note that a lot or restaurants are closed Monday and Tuesday. I had a great stay. Room was clean, relatively quiet and met the Best Western Standard. If you are looking for a room I would suggest staying here. The park is right across the street.
