The place was nice

We stay at Hampton Inns all the time because they are consistent, nice staff, clean rooms, good breakfast buffet. This particular one was a little difficult to find because it's hidden back behind a Lowes.

Very nice Hampton. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful upon check-in. Room was very modern and clean, and I wish my bathroom/shower at home was as nice as the one in this room. We ordered a pizza from Empire Pizza which is right across the parking lot and enjoyed sitting outside on their very nice patio area to eat and enjoy a warm Spring night. Room on 6th floor was very quiet, and our view out the back of the hotel included the Carowinds coasters and the Charlotte skyline in the distance. Easy on/off to I-77. We will definetly be back to this location the next time we are traveling to Southwest Florida with a stop in the Charlotte area for the night.

I Checked in to this property on Friday, March 1, 2024, and checked out in Monday, March 4, 2024. When I first arrived, no one was at the desk and that was a continuous issue all weekend. This property is not that old, however, the lack of sufficient upkeep makes it look old. I have stayed here several time and I have watched the upkeep deteriorate. I stayed here January 2024, and my experience wasn't good, but I thought I would give them another try. Well this most recent visit, was my last. It appears as if the staff members are just doing a job. There is no love and care for the property. I stayed in a double room, one bed had a bed skirt the other did not. There was thick dust on the frame of the nightstand in between the beds. The toilet seat is too small for the toilet, so when you are a size 14 and not a 2, you are sitting on cold porcelain. I shared my concerns with a staff member on Saturday morning and when I returned Saturday evening the room was the same. On Sunday morning, I again shared my concerns with the Manager, Mr. Slade and was told Saturday was not the day for my room to be cleaned. It would be cleaned on Sunday, because the hotel policies is that rooms are cleaned every other day. Well when I returned to my room Sunday night, my room still had not been cleaned. I talk with Mr. Slade Monday morning and he said housekeeping said I had a do not disturb sign on my door and that's why it was not cleaned. I DID NOT HAVE THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON THE DOOR BECAUSE I WANTED THE ROOM CLEANED. Mr. Slade also stated that he does have any problems with his housekeeping staff and that my concerns were an anomaly. Even if my concerns were an anomaly, they still should have been addressed. The breakfast area needs to be updated. The covering in the benches is worn and the area isn't inviting and welcoming. The food bar is not pleasing the eye. The fruit basket had four rotten bananas in it. If you have to stay in the area, I suggest you stay at the Courtyard by Marriott that is up the street. I had family that was there while I was at the Hampton and the experience was much better and we payed the exact same price.

I like how the front desk, Javarus, assisted me with everything I requested. He made sure my stay was very comfortable and pleasing. The breakfast was pretty good as well. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there. And I will be back to visit!

Newer property, clean, nice breakfast, bed was decent, lots of TV channels, nice bathroom. Rooms that face the interstate can hear big trucks all night. There is no constant fan setting on the thermostat to drown out the noise, so recommend bringing a white noise machine. There is no exhaust fan in the bathrooms to move steam out, or to drown out other noises.
