Prices start at £4 or £5 per night... This is an old castle hotel on the west side of the Scottish Highlands. From a common area point of view everything is well done and impeccable. But from the point of view of the rooms...the price/performance ratio is obviously super low. The facilities are outdated, so I asked for a humidifier... A hair dryer that was produced 20 years ago came, which was completely unacceptable and had no humidifying effect at all. The shower room has very strict requirements on the size of the guests, and I personally feel that the water pressure can be further improved and improved. The laudable point is that the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap in the bathroom...all have two ball royal certifications, and the quality is also carried. The cold and hot water device of the washbasin is a traditional separate type, which is the kind of water that you either use cold water or hot water, and it cannot be warm water anyway. The sofa in the guest room is made of fabric. The disadvantage is that you can't see whether it has lice or whether it is clean. Anyway, it is so old that people don't want to sit on it at all. The carpet is lint-free, which means it's "aged". Well, let's talk about the public area: the restaurant's production is still quite standard, with Michelin standards, whether it's dinner or breakfast... It's pretty good, but the quality of the coffee is not good. The service staff are warm, courteous, serious and smiling. There are several casual living rooms and even dining rooms in the indoor public area, all of which are luxurious, comfortable, freehand, and comfortable, and there is nothing to fault. There are a large number of areas in the outdoor woods and paths that need to be improved, such as greening projects. One last thing to add: parking is free. After all, the owner, Mr. Chai, is a Chinese from Southeast Asia. The land of the ancient castle covers an area of 5,000 acres... If parking charges are required... it would be too stingy. In general...you can say that it is an ancient European style, but I personally think that the ancient European style does not necessarily need to update or refresh the facilities and furniture. Especially with such a large area, if the greening is not done well... it really responds to the old saying "gold and jade are outside, and there is nothing in it".

Great room…. on top floor (Ben Nevis). Very comfortable with two full bathrooms. Bed was really comfortable. Could use a larger dresser with bigger drawers. Dinner was wonderful experience and delicious. Get a table by window to enjoy the view.. Very nice, hardworking staff. Truly a unique and special place.

I cannot speak more highly about this hotel! The warm welcome from Kaitlyn, she makes you feel like you have come home and she is a constant presence making sure you have everything you need. Despite the cold outside the castle was lovely and warm, in both the rooms and the main lounge. The food is absolutely outstanding, we tried everything, we tried breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner in both the lounge and seagair restaurant, it is a foodies paradise and always served with smile. Everyone was so friendly which really makes you feel so relaxed. Can’t wait to go back.

We stayed here one night as a part of a longer trip in Scotland. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The bed was super comfortable with high quality linens and the turn down service made it feel special. The real highlight was the incredible shower. I might be less excited about this if I hadn’t been traveling for 4 weeks and found the showers so be without pressure and often only hot for 5 minutes. But I’m pretty sure it was only partly that. The grounds are lovely and common rooms were comfortable. Staff members were helpful when they were around, sometimes you had to search them out.

The property is beautiful, staff is wonderful, but the best thing by far is the food, restaurant is not just sophisticated but the food is a masterpiece.

Enchanting place. The room was beautiful, wonderful afternoon tea and the dinner was very good. Not the best restaurant I’ve been in Scotland, but very good. The hotel outdoors were very beautiful as well, not to mention the place’s history. The only thing is that in our last day of stay there was going to be a wedding. So the things became a little bit messy. But I gave it a 5 stars because besides that we had a wonderful stay.

I came for Sunday lunch in the lounge. The lounge was lovely but disappointingly the food was only OK - nothing to really write home about - unexceptional food from a very limited menu. There were just things like soup, sausage roll, toasted sandwich, burger, chips, etc, all at 5 star pricing. The staff members however were all without exception absolutely top notch, very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately I can't really recommend the lounge menu.

Such an absolutely charming hotel in the highlands! True luxury experience with stunning common areas and beyond excellent food! Make sure to book the clay pigeon shooting experience with crombie clay as our guide was so fun and engaging.

We attended a fabulous demo & lunch by renowned Michelin star chef Michel Roux Jnr. The event was well organised, highly staffed and very enjoyable. 40 guests enjoyed watching Michel demo a couple of simple dishes while telling a few anecdotes about his late father and his culinary career. After the demo, we all retired to the beautiful restaurant and Michel served our 2 course lunch. A real treat...
