Chase the Wild Goose, by Fort William

Booked here as a starting point for the great glen canoe trail even let us store our 3 kayaks ,staff where great , room was clean ,very basic but it’s a budget hostel , Location wise there is a bistro /bar two min walk away and a pub 5 minutes away . Would recommend this place and would stay again

Great location close to Ben Nevis, check in was swift, staff were really helpful. The layout of the hostel is great with a brilliant chill out room and dining area. Kitchen is a good size and felt like being at home. Bedroom sizes were good with cleaning bedding provided. We were a group of 11 and really enjoyed our stay here. We highly recommend Chase the Wild Goose and will be back here in future, hopefully very soon.

Had a 4 bed (2 bunk bed) private room for 2 nights. Toilets and showers were shared but there were enough for people to use (some separate showers from toilets, some separate toilets, some combined) all areas were clean beds were comfy enough (certainly better than expected) staff were so friendly and helpful. Fresh linen and absolutely perfect location with parking (limited) out front but other parking very close by. Would stay again for sure!

had a night in a 4 bed bunk room in the hostel - clean and tidy. Good education for the children on hostel life! They had fun helping make the beds up. Towels were available for hire and the shower good (if a little reluctant to turn off but they are aware and waiting on parts). Had a good night's sleep. We were up early so had the kitchen to ourselves. I can see why their website suggests booking a slot in the kitchen and dining area as it did get very busy later on. We did our own food but they do offer a breakfast if you want. Washing up liquid and tea towels provided so that you can tidy when you have finished .... another learning experience for the kids! The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful - we enjoyed our stay with them.

As a family of 4 we stayed at Chase the Wild Goose. Highly impressed with facilities available and kitchen facilities. Everything had been though of, right down to providing hot water bottles for those unfamiliar with the Scottish weather! Bedroom comfortable and bedsheets were crisp and clean. Room was a good temperature and electric key pads on the rooms avoided the need for keys. Good variety of breakfast items available if you choose to pay for the self serve breakfast. Would return here again.

Handled our large group really well. Friendly helpful staff and made us very welcome. Nice rooms, comfy beds, hot showers and nice living room. Great value rooms. This is our second stay here with our charity/group and it works so well for us.

Been visiting Fort William for over 20 years I was absolutely disgusted to find out that this establishments took my booking took my money confirmed the booking and wouldn’t let me stay with my 5 year old grandson. I booked one bed in a mixed dorm only to be told I was being dishonest. And not telling them I had a child even tho I informed them 3 times. They put us out on the street screamed at me to leave the property. Sent abusive txts no child should be forced to sleep in a single bed with other adults. Lucky escape absolute joke
