Holiday Inn - the niu, CHARLY FRANKFURT CITY by IHG

We visited on 11 April 2026. The hotel is located near the main train station (Hauptbahnhof), but it’s a bit hidden, so you may need some navigation to find it. The lobby is clean and warm, which is especially nice in cold weather when you’re heading back after a long day. A thoughtful touch is the complimentary fresh water infused with mint leaves and lemon slices, as well as free Granny Smith apples available for guests. We stayed in Room 405, which was very clean and tidy. The air conditioning worked well during warmer days. The bathroom includes a heating rack, which is useful for drying laundry or warming clothes before heading out. However, no dental kits were provided, so be sure to bring your own. Basic amenities like hand wash, shampoo, and body wash are available. One downside is the shower, the water pressure is quite weak, and the temperature fluctuates between hot and cold regardless of the dial setting. A point to be cautious about: the street outside can feel unsafe, especially at night. There were people smoking and drinking, with occasional loud noises such as shouting or music. The area was also quite dirty, with noticeable trash and a strong smell of urine. It’s best to stay alert if walking alone, particularly after dark.

It was a great stay from start to finish, with a warm welcome and genuinely friendly and helpful front desk staff.

The location is close to main train station but the area is not as attractive with drunkards and drug ******* and drug dealers. I’d prefer some sort of security, like a key card to get access to hotel rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful though.

Very Clean and close to train station. I love their breakfast too.

I gave the highest possible rate. Im travelling for more than a month now in many countries and by far the most money value and excellent state of room and services. Kudos💯❤️🏆👏

The Staff and hotel itself were very good. Close to the train station so a short walk with a bag or suitcase. The only disappointing thing was the actual location, the area is a bit “sketchy “ with drug dealers clearly operating openly right near the hotel.
