Hougoumont Hotel

Reception was friendly and really helpful. The hotel is central near all the restaurants  and tourist attractions . Room is small but was adequate for our 1 night stay. Shower is spacious . Lovely ambience and aesthetics. Breakfast was good . no eggs  Overall will book again

The hotel is ideally placed in the centre of Freo. The “container” rooms are small but well appointed and very clean

We stayed 3 nights at the Hougoumont New Haus. The staff at Hougoumont provided the best and so very friendly. It seemed nothing was too much. They even provided a nightly complimentary wine and cheese which was a pleasant surprise.

I recently spent 10 days at this hotel, and from the very first moment, I felt at home. I arrived feeling stressed and drained, but this place quickly became my absolute sanctuary – my personal well-being place. Although it’s a modern hotel, it never loses its warmth, because the staff are simply lovely. They greet you with genuine care every day, ask how you are, and are always fully present. They even remember your name, which makes you feel truly welcome and adds such a personal touch. In winter, they light up a fire in the bar – it’s cozy, heartwarming, and creates the perfect atmosphere to relax and connect. The entire staff is sweet, attentive, and goes out of their way to make sure every wish is taken care of immediately. Housekeeping deserves a special mention – they are lively, gentle, and do an outstanding job. Honestly, this is the cleanest hotel in the entire city. The free coffee is a highlight – not only because it’s delicious, but also because the coffee machine has become the place to meet new people and share stories. Add the complimentary wine & cheese evenings and you quickly feel like part of a community. The hotel has the best location you could wish for: right on the main street, surrounded by countless restaurants and shops, and only five minutes away from the beach. Simply unbeatable! This hotel is not just a place to stay – it’s a place to belong. It combines modern style with a warm, family-like atmosphere, making it the perfect retreat.
