Grand Roatan Resort and Spa

Wow! This place is 5 stars! Not only the hotel is gorgeous and the location is superior, but all the staff is incredible! It seems that they have a YES policy and they were very accommodating for all of our needs. They also made my 40th birthday extra special! A special thank you goes to the employee August in the pool and beach area. He went above and beyond for us. His positive attitude and overall friendliness made our stay unforgettable. This resort truly hires the best people and you see this in management and all the employees. We will return! Thank you!

We stayed at this resort for 6 nights in second week of June. The location is amazing! Right on the beach with the best snorkeling spots. We were so impressed by the decor and the high end furniture throughout the resort. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a nice ocean view balcony. We took massages at the spa which was also super nice. We ate at the resort everyday and the food was ok. The staff were nice and accommodating.

Staff was slow in terms of service, rarely answering the phone at room service or for the spa. There were some outstanding employees like Jimmy at sea cat, Arnold at the beach.

Beautiful area - isolated Wonderful beach, snorkeling Staff nice but not top notch Numerous issues during stay- phones, hot water, wrong food delivered Need to step up their mojo.

AMAZING RESORT!! This is my third year in a row visiting this resort, first year with the IHG Kimpton partnership. The first two years we stayed in the condo rooms, this year we stayed in the new building. The people at this resort are what make it world class. They have always been amazing and it remains spectacular under Kimpton management. Belkies, Josh, Wetzle, Christie, the pool crew, ALL the restaurant staff, even the shuttle driver. I honestly can't say enough good things about the staff. Its a huge reason we return every year. They are the most kind, helpful and just friendly people I've ever encountered at a resort. The amenities with the new Kimpton resort have increased significantly - 4 amazing restaurants on site ( the food is honestly amazing at all of them), new outdoor bar, new lounge chairs, snorkel gear, kayaks, better pool towels and the list goes on and on. The new resort is breathtakingly beautiful too. We loved this place before and Kimpton took the decor to the next level. Lets see a few more things. The pool and hot tub are great. The ocean view from the pool is spectacular. The spa is also next level as well. Amazing hot/cold plunges, the spa outdoor pool area is so peaceful. Lastly, I have to highlight the snorkeling. The best reef to snorkel is right in front of the hotel and it is AMAZING! This is the best off shore snorkeling spot I've ever been too. You can literally spend a week snorkeling everyday and see something new everyday. (Please please take care of the reef - use reef safe sunscreen, do not step on the reef and be kind to the marine life) Negatives? Honestly not much to complain about. Lets see, its a bit pricey for Honduras but you really do feel like you get a lot for your money here. Some of the older rooms can be a little musty (i'm pretty sure its from the AC's). The smoke from the sugar cane burning on the main land can block the sunset and sky. Its not smoky at the resort but you can see a haze in the sky at times, depending on the time of year.

I've never been more welcomed and cared for than here. Specifically the front desk associate named Fredy. Im often a critic of little things, but Fredy was flawless. He is truly a hospitality expert. This is the type of person for upper management. His hospitality would embolden other staff and amplify his and their gifts. I 100% will come back because of him. The beach and bar are genuinely very nice too.

I spent a night here with my aunt on our way to Utila and it was exceptional. The service was unparalleled and the facilities and accommodations are gorgeous! While everyone was wonderful a few people made our trip extra special. First and foremost Christopher who picked us up on the golf cart while we were in the bungalow and greeted us with our welcome cocktails was amazing! The perfect mix of friendly and professional. Josh is one of the hardest working guys on the property. Dinner on the beach with our server Yenin was one of the best meals and service I’ve had and as a New Yorker I’m use to exceptional service. He was top notch. Treated us like “family” even before he realized we were staying at the property. Last but definitely not least was Stanley. Stanley helped make up our sofa bed and literally had my aunt and I cracking up. What an energetic and life loving young man. He was so patient when I tried to help and was clearly just getting in the way. Let me not forget sweet Shamika at the front desk and our breakfast server Rebecca. Lovely young ladies. Most importantly I would like to say everyone was phenomenal and this hotel was money well spent. I do hope IHG is taking care of their workers as well as their workers are taking care of the guests. Thank you all for the memories and hospitality.

We stay in Gran Roatan resort, a very expensive resort, they forgot to do our bed, till we told them so at the evening. Attention is not what you paid for, and they should have captain to manage the waiters and personal.

Absolutely fabulous 4-night stay at the Grand Kimpton, Roatan. We were upgraded to a suite (an innocent misunderstanding about room we had booked) - next time we’ll probably reserve a suite from the beginning - gorgeous room and fantastic layout. Best snorkeling we’ve had in years right off the hotel beachfront - also beautiful pool and grounds. Our massages were excellent (arrive early to take full advantage of the spa amenities!). We ate at all the restaurants and each was very good. It is hard to choose what we liked “best” - but the courteous and friendly staff was The Best — I tried to keep a list of their names bc Every Person was really above and beyond in warm professionalism. We did not leave the property during this, our first time visit - it was a perfect place to relax and unwind. A special shout out to resort manager, Paloma Martinez - you are doing a superb job!
