Best first impression ever! My husband and I celebrated our 31st anniversary and the hotel was absolutely perfect. We parked on Friday and didn't get back in our car until Sunday. The service was exceptional starting with valet to the front desk staff to the folks who drove us around all weekend. We even enjoyed the "trolley on the tracks" to visit West Badin. Even though the rain was relentless on Friday, weather cleared up for us to tour the horse barn and walk around the beautiful grounds. A hidden gem just hours from Cincinnati, and the drive was well worth it!!! Thanks for a great anniversary and the excellent service!!!

Luxury price at a mediocre hotel. Quality and service of the food and staff were under par. It is a historic hotel. It does have nice pools, but don’t expect more than that. It’s very conservative and not a fun buzzing place to go to. The spa staff were nice and congenial at least. Restaurant quality was very poor, considering they are a 4-5 star. Breakfast is not included by the way.

You can’t go wrong with staying at this historical resort from the truffles at the signature shop to the 1875 restaurant. The boutique shops for men and women have very nice items and are great for birthdays. For a great place to get a cold beer and food is at the Power House Pub. We have not met a more helpful and welcoming staff. My Wife and I will return for our special occasions

Beautiful hotel, we loved our stay. We went to take the "Chocolate" train. Hotel is wonderful with the beautiful pools, the hobby, the shops. It was nicely decorated for Halloween. Restaurants were excellent.

Loved our stay here. Room was really nice, great location. The power plant had good food and fast service. They were bombarded with people but they handled it well and still did a great job. The pool was heated and was comfortable to swim in (mid-Dec), the hot tub was outside but my family used it and loved it. The Chris**as decorations could rival any, anywhere. Lots to look at, comfortable outside, safe-feeling, light show on front of building was attention-getting. Will definitely stay here again.

I love French Lick Springs hotel! It is a fast get a way from St. Louis and the things to do are plentiful along with historic beauty from both the French Lick Springs hotel and the West Baden Hotel! Great food! Make sure to go to the Moo Moo steakhouse across from the French Lick Springs Hotel… it has amazing ambience and Chef Brian is outstanding with his in house made Specials! The only thing I missed this year is the tremendous talents of Sarah Siver’s, who regularly sang at both hotels, but no longer doesn’t! Her voice is angelic and I miss her dearly!! Please bring her back, it is Sarah that always rounded out our experience there!

The beds were comfortable, the room was well appointed, and the staff very friendly. There is SO MUCH to do in the hotel and resort that you don't have to leave during your stay if you don't want to. My only caveat is that our room was near the elevators, so I heard people coming and going outside our room, making sleep difficult.

This is a resort hotel that the prices reflect. It is possible to stay at a cheaper hotel in town, but this hotel has resort amenities (daily activities, areas to relax, walking trails, Swimming pool, hot tub, spa, ******, etc) that are available to guests and taking advantage of this a**osphere is what resorts are about. I am happier to have stayed in the more relaxing environment even if only for the one night. We opted for French Lick Springs over West Baden for cost reasons which was a smart move in hindsight. They must be used to many regulars because the front desk staff upon our arrival did not give an introduction to the layout or transportation amenities by- so we discovered on our own (they did point us to our room), The rooms are spacious and quiet. The staff at both resorts were pleasant - several employees stopped to converse which was welcoming. I recommend taking the tour of both hotels on the resort - if you only wish one your, the one on the West Baden was more detailed (deciding which one is based on your interest level). We were impressed with the transportation options to/from West Baden Hotel and resort sites - no car is necessary. Our only disappoin**ent was the restaurant quality. We breakfasted in the Colonnade. What an elegant and spectacular setting for such a drab, lifeless, and poorly serviced restaurant. The hostess turned her back to us after we paid indicating her time with us was done. To get the initial cup of coffee required more than 3 requests and to find a server for the refill I played an impromptu game of hide-and-go-seek —elusive servers, caffeine cravings, and a coffee cup left gasping for help! The breakfast itself was unimaginative- sugar donuts available in the checkout counter of your local Walgreens and containers of yogurt. The cooked food was stacked high in the cafeteria serving trays, but because of the few diners eating it was cold. Why put out 50 scrambled eggs when only 5 diners are in the restaurant? A chef did lack-lustrously prepare fresh omelettes and pancakes. Our dinner in the West Baden Springs Ballard’s (I will review on another page) rated poor for other reasons. I’d say go into town to dine. You will enjoy French Lick Springs most by unwinding and taking advantage of what is on offer!
