We stayed at the Arkadia for 5 nights in a penthouse suite on the 4th floor. What an interesting hotel! The decor is probably 1990s and could seriously use an update. It was large and scrupulously clean though, and the staff we met were very helpful, going out of their way to assist. They also spoke English really well which was great. It was late summer and the apartment was very warm - there was no air conditioning, and no ceiling fans. We requested a fan and one was brought up to us. We eventually worked out how to operate the windows, the external screens and the curtains to manage the heat a bit. The bed had an extremely firm mattress and two small feather pillows which were largely useless. The shower gel container in the bathroom was empty. The kitchenette had a microwave, cooktop, fridge and a coffee maker, although no kettle. Glasses, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils were supplied. The location is quite good, near the railway station and a shopping centre. There was a breakfast room near reception but we never used it.

Wir waren bereits zum zweiten Mal hier und würden grundsätzlich auch jederzeit wieder kommen. Am Mobiliar hat sich an sich nichts geändert. Es ist definitiv nicht zeitgemäß aber erfüllt seinen Zweck. Genauso wie das Bad und die kleine Kochnische. Zum Frühstück kann ich diesmal nix sagen, da wir auswärts frühstücken. Jetzt kommen wir zu den zwei doch recht großen Mankos. Zum einen der Preis, wir haben für eine Nacht für zwei Personen 121 Euro gezahlt. Unser letzter hotelaufenthalt in Köln in einem modernen, zentral gelegenen Hotel mit Wellness und Fitness Bereich bewegte sich in etwa in der gleichen Kategorie. Für diesen Preis ist die Leistung leider absolut nicht zufriedenstellen. Hinzukommt, dass wir dieses Mal in den Sommermonaten hier sind. Aufgrund des Fehlens einer Klimaanlage und den großen Fenstern heizt sich das Gebäude und leider auch die Zimmer enorm auf und dies in unserem Fall bereits in den frühen Morgenstunden. Die Rollladen lassen sich nicht komplett schließen, sodass sie diesem Problem auch keine Abhilfe schaffen können. Sehr schade. Die Nacht ließ sich bei sperrangelweitem Fenster aushalten, jedoch war ansonsten ein Aufenthalt im Zimmer wirklich unangenehm.
