To be honest I would probably have given this hotel 5 stars, rather than 4, but there was a major issue, that would, if it had been resolved, would have much improved our stay. That said, would I recommend staying here ? Yes, I would despite this, The staff here are generally excellent, polite and friendly. - we really only had the one issue (see later) We had a studio room which was fantastic in terms of facilities and cleanliness. I highly recommend room 120, or 124. that gives a pleasant upper balcony view of the Splash pool area and the nearby small lake. You don't get a sea or sunset view ( which we like) but we felt that this was an excellent alternative and hardly missed either. Other rooms give views of the golf course and mountains behind, which some may prefer. Either way, our assessment is that the rooms to the left of the Splash seemed to be quieter in (human) traffic and better placed generally. It was just a three minutes walk to the supermarket - handy for cold beers and ice cream to bring back to your room (there is a large fridge freezer). Great self catering facilities including toast, electric hob, kettle and coffee maker (with pods provided) The choice and quality of food and drinks were excellent and prices very reasonable (we often found guests from other hotels using the bars because of this). Cocktails at the bar (yummy) average US$8 and food US$15- US$22 . There are 2 pool tables and lots of sports TV screens The hotel has two pools but the slightly larger one is completely overlooked by a courtyard of upper and lower bedroom units - so some could find this to be somewhat of a goldfish bowl in terms of being overlooked whilst swimming or sunbathing. I guess however, it could be preferred if you got a unit in this spot and wanted to keep an eye on your kids swimming without leaving your unit ? However, it also appeared that there were no facilities at the time we visited (late April/ May) at this pool - so would entail a long walk to the bars to get drinks etc. The Splash pool by contrast (most often shown in the photos), though smaller is much nicer with no direct overlooking, and all facilities (towels, w.c.s ,bar etc). The pool is a little tired to be honest but it was clean, and the water is warm. However, I'm afraid this where the hotel lost a star from me. Unlike the photos shown, there are only 5 (now tatty) umbrellas between 28 or so loungers around the Splash pool. Even at low season, with few guests, there were simply not enough. There were also some "luxury" lounger beds but these have no canopies (which they clearly once had). During our stay the staff continuously asked "let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable" Sadly this proved to be pure lip service from the staff and the Manager. On our first day, all the few umbrellas there were, were taken by other guests ( 6 people - only 1 couple sharing) We asked politely at the pool bar, for one additional umbrella
