Like two weeks ago in Ludres, I was overtaken by the Concierge with money claims that were not explainable in part. I had booked on Trip and used Coins. The hotel must at least know that the room is paid. Dumb foreigners take off? The hotel I know for a long time. The rooms are a little bigger than in the neighboring IN hotel and now have a refrigerator and a Senseo machine (photo). The hotel has an elevator and some rooms have a valley view. It was one of the B & B hotels 3 years ago. Opening times are limited. Eventually, you are facing closed doors. There is an automatic desk for the reception of the room card.

The incoming was very difficult, outside the opening hours. At first I had to pay again, while I had already paid with ideal. According to the gentleman, it was a reservation. I hope it will be written only once from my account. In the room we had a few problems with the helpdesk. It took 55 minutes before we were in! That's not fun at 1.00 hours at night. Finally, a staff member came to open our room. The room itself was quite spacious, clean and a nice shower. If there were no check-in problems, we would have had a very pleasant stay.

For the return journey to the Netherlands, we were looking for a hotel for one night near the motorway. With Kyriad we made a good choice in our experience. On arrival we were told that we could enjoy a PMR room (for persons with reduced mobility). Stayed here for one night as part of a group. The room was very nice but the air con was on so high that it was freezing. The bed was very comfortable but hot and the sheet slipped because of the waterproof cover underneath. Why is that necessary? The bathroom was good and the shower was efficient. Breakfast was good with lots of choice and it was great to get fruit. However we were not made welcome in the restaurant in the evening. We were a group of 4 and we were told that as we were part of the group from the bus we could not have a meal and could only order a pizza and take it to our room. I do not like food in my room and I was eating with friends as we were all in different rooms. Eventually we were told we could eat it in the restaurant but we’d have to order it from the bar. So we went to the bar and waited for 10 minutes then we were told to go back to the table and they’d serve us. We were served eventually then waited for ages for the pizza and after all that it was quite disappointing. They also ran out of Coca Cola Zero. The most annoying thing was to at there were quite a few of us there from the bus and lots of others were eating from the normal menu. We felt like 2nd class citizens. Your restaurant let you down in my star rating.

Stayed overnight on our return to Calais, and found the hotel to be extremely busy. The rooms are standard Novotel rooms but our bathroom was quite small. The up side is that it does have ai-conditioning. The pool area is OK, but it is quite small. The food, again, typical of this type of hotel but ok. Expensive for what you get, and several area's, the stairwell's, need attention. Stated loud for the noise levels, but this was only in the main public areas. Would probably find somewhere else next time.
