The location isn't the most convenient, but the hotel offers a shuttle bus service, though with limited hours. It would be more convenient if you're driving, as there's plenty of parking available. The room was spacious with a great view of Lake Kawaguchiko. You can even see Mount Fuji from the observation deck upstairs.
The front desk staff speak English, which was helpful for communication. Breakfast and dinner were included, and the quality was decent.
Private onsen baths are available for an additional fee, but each session is only 30 minutes. I might book this hotel again for my next trip.

Very disappointed with the one-night stay including two meals. Both breakfast and dinner were far from satisfactory... The hotel's location is remote, and the facilities are old. It was a real letdown.

The staff were very polite, and the transportation was convenient with a dedicated shuttle service. The food was different both nights and tasted great! I'll definitely come back again.

Maruei is one of the best hotel I ever stayed in Japan, with nice staff and great food, most importantly, amazing view with lake and mt Fuji. It’s very worth it! It’s a once in a lifetime experience to enjoy Japanese traditional food and hot springs with a super amazing view. I can’t wait to go for second time. It’s a MUST TRY!

Bus stop located right in front of the hotel entrance however with very little frequency. Hotel does provide free shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station.

It was a wonderful experience of good food n service. Even provided us Yukiko who can speak English to serve us at meal time.
The only flaw is that their futons do not have a supporting mattress . For the last night the cotton in the futon is not enough to support me for a good night’s rest 🥲
