The hotel was beautiful!! They picked us up at the station and took us directly to the hotel. The room was clean and my hot tub had a fabulous view of Mt. Fuji. Our dinner was so delicious and fresh! The breakfast buffet was very good as well.

Service is amazing as soon as we stepped foot inside the hotel. Great service from our host for the amazing dinner served in the room. The Japanese breakfast buffet have fresh tempera made per order. Our room has great view of mt Fuji. The onsen also have great view of mt Fuji. Very pleasant stay at this hotel. Would come back again and recommend to others!!

We had the time of our lives at Shuhokaku Kogetsu. Even before arriving to the hotel the staff was contacting me per email and attending to any needs such as dietary options for the dinner or pick up location. We were warmly welcomed and the staff explained everything to us regarding the room, happy hour time, baths and dinner. Special thanks to mo-e who served us the dinner. We were at the end also transported to the station by the hotel.
The room was very clean, the furniture had high quality even in the smallest details (door, cups bed, etc.). We had a room with an outside onsen that had stunning views. The onsen was amazing and very relaxing.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Our last visit to Lake Kawaguchiko ended without a single glimpse of Fuji San. This time we picked Shuhokaku Kogetsu based on Claude’s recommendation, hoping for a better view — and it did not disappoint. On our second morning, Fuji San appeared in full glory. Add to that an authentic Japanese dinner served in a private room with utmost care and hospitality, and it became a truly memorable family trip.

Every staff in the hotel provide exceptionally great services, hospitality and attention to details.

While the main selling point is the stunning Mount Fuji view from every room, the service and facilities are also absolutely perfect 🩵🩶. Dinner was served in two separate courses, all at once, and delivered discreetly through a private door, ensuring no disturbance – very luxurious 🤓. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of both Japanese and Western dishes. You could even grab a small ice cream and enjoy the view of Mount Fuji from the beach.
We happened to be there during a fireworks festival. Although we were a bit far, we could still see all the fireworks, and even watch them while soaking in the bath – pure bliss! We didn't go to the actual event, but it was quite atmospheric to see all the guests on their own balconies looking out and cheering at the same time.
My review is that I'll definitely come back again when the weather is good... During the rainy season, it's really easy to only catch a glimpse of the mountain's peak. 😶😶

Facing Mount Fuji directly is absolutely stunning. The dinner was exquisite and delicious, and the breakfast tempura and fried shrimp were also very good.
