Beautiful place. Exceptional service. I have allergies for fish and they were good with making different kaiseki course for me. They have their own transfer bus, so you can also easily visit Kawaguchiko. 32 types of wine available at the bar to taste. Also suitable for weddings. Deserves every good review

Staff are amazing, so friendly and welcoming. Beautiful scenery in the garden and perfect spot to get the best view of Fuji. Meal is great and facilities really make the stay special.

Kaneyamaen is such a beautiful hotel - everywhere you turn, there’s something lovely to see. Also, I can’t recommend the staff enough!! Everyone was so gracious and pleasant, and our dinner server was a delight to converse with even with my limited Japanese skills.
By the way, the included dinner is an 8 course meal — I didn’t know that when we booked. No complaints here!!
The rooftop hot spring was a highlight, don’t miss out on that. I would recommend taking advantage of the free yukata rentals as well.
There were more amenities than I had time to engage with, so if I could do this trip over again, I would definitely plan to stay for more than one night. Keep Kaneyamaen at the top of your list of onsen hotel options!!!

It was my second visit to the hotel. It’s still very enjoyable. Rooms are spacious and there is a in room open air onsen. Food is average but the hotel offers plenty of activities for the guests to enjoy their stay. I highly recommend foreigners to stay in this hotel.

Overall, it was good. The faucet in the room needs improvement. It's odd why they'd use a water-saving faucet with an automatic sensor—it's really inconvenient and should be fixed. The daily hotel performances were excellent.

We spent our anniversary with my girlfriend in Kaneyamaen, and our experience was above and beyond. Starting with the shuttle option provided by the hotel from Mishima station, which also took us to Oshino hakkai, what a gorgeous place, before ending up at the hotel. We were really satisfied of our driver who shared facts about Yamanashi prefecture and Fuji.
Our check-in process was also a really nice experience. From the moment we arrived we felt the hospitality of the hotel service crew. They escorted us to our room and helped with our luggage. Staying at a Sanri-Comfort Western Room, we had access to 2 lounges, where in one of them we had access to many kind of amazing wine from Yamanashi, among other tasty snacks. We choose our yukata and headed for matcha tasting. This is located in another part of the building which also gives us a peak at the wonderful garden. The matcha and snack we received helped us settle in with the calm garden view. Then came dinner. My god, the dinner was above and beyond. Neither of us had an 8 course dinner before with such a perfect service and absolutely amazing food. Hats of to the restaurant and service crew. Truly impressed.
We decided to walk of the calories in the hotels beautiful garden at night. The illumination creates a really romantic experience.
After this, we attended the Taiko drum show, which is organized by the hotel crew. First time for me and I can say it definitely made our experience even more special. Fantastic work.
Then the star of the show. The open-air bath on the balcony. The sight of Mt. Fuji early morning from the bath, was a magical experience which we'll never forget.
The buffet breakfast provides a great selection of food and drinks, rest assured we left very pleased.
All in all, this was an extraordinary stay for us. Nothing but max points. Wish we'll have the chance to visit again.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise with an unexpectedly rich array of activities.
Hidden in the back garden was a large, beautifully manicured Japanese garden. Sipping Japanese matcha while gazing at the small bridges and flowing water was incredibly relaxing.
The taiko drum performance was incredibly energetic! The young performers had amazing stamina, drumming, dancing, and chanting all at once. During the intermission, they even invited children to join in and drum to the rhythm. I later found out it was a performance put on by the hotel staff themselves, which showed so much love and dedication.
There were also bingo games and piano performances, and even one-year-old kids got to wear cute little yukatas! 🫰
From the room, we had a view of Mount Fuji, which was still covered in snow in March. It was cold but stunningly beautiful.
The only minor downsides were that the rooftop open-air onsen with Mount Fuji views was open to women only very early in the morning, and we didn't get a chance to enjoy it due to our schedule. Also, the food might not have been the freshest; after all, fresh seafood isn't exactly a mountain specialty. While we didn't experience vomiting or diarrhea after eating, we did feel a bit off for two days.

I booked a one-meal, two-night stay. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. Breakfast was a buffet. The hotel is very large with comprehensive facilities, including a lounge and spa, so you won't get bored. However, the cleaning was truly terrible; hair on the floor was completely ignored. The large public bath was quite comfortable, but you had to constantly hold the shower faucet open. The service was alright. I booked a mountain view room, but it didn't directly face Mount Fuji.
