Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Gion

The hotel's location is decent, about a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station, with plenty of options for dining and shopping nearby. However, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired—we found a straw left behind by a previous guest in the room. The Wi-Fi is terrible, dropping connection every half hour or so. You also have to wait in line for breakfast during peak hours. On the downside, it's very close to the central police station; I was woken up by a deafening siren one night. Would not consider staying here again.

Great choice for shopping in Hakata. It features an in-room soaking tub and is very close to Canal City and Alpen Nakasu. It has standard star-rated hotel service. The reusable slippers that people often complain about definitely need improvement—if you're a germophobe, I'd recommend bringing your own or asking if disposable ones are available. The room is spacious enough to fully open two large suitcases.

This is my second visit to Fukuoka this year, and my second stay at your hotel. This time, I noticed an additional option (Chinese self-service), which is great. However, my only minor concern is why the disposable slippers in the room have been replaced with reusable ones. Anyone can wear them, and I feel this is unhygienic and could easily spread foot diseases. Is it possible to revert to the previous disposable ones? My solution: I proactively asked the front desk for disposable slippers.

The location is super convenient, and the hotel is very new. It's only a 5-6 minute walk to Hakata Station. Breakfast is plentiful, with freshly made sushi. The large public bath on the top floor, with both indoor and outdoor baths, was fantastic! The only downside, if I had to pick one, is that the double bed in the room was a bit small. Other than that, everything was perfect. 👍

This hotel is conveniently located and easily accessible. It's a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station, and only 2 minutes from Exit 5 or 6 of Gion-Shisha-mae Station on the Nanakuma Line. Canal City Hakata is also within walking distance. Across the street, there's a 7-Eleven. To the left of the hotel entrance is a popular breakfast spot, and to the right is Fuk Coffee, which always has a line of Koreans. Diagonally across the road is FullFull Bakery, and the mentaiko baguette there is delicious, especially if you go when there's no line in the afternoon! The hotel rooms are a bit small, and the bathroom doesn't have a separate shower and toilet. However, the rooftop onsen is great, with both an indoor and outdoor bath, both very comfortable. When it's busy, you might have to wait to shower, and the changing room is a bit small. There are only two washer-dryer machines in the laundry room, and there's always a queue. I stayed on the 6th floor this time, and there were indeed ambulance and police car sirens at night, but it didn't really affect my sleep overall. The pillows were a bit soft and low, but the smaller companion pillow came in handy; stacking two together was just right. The complimentary bottled water in the fridge was a nice touch, and the room was cleaned daily, which was great!
