The hotel boasts a fantastic location with convenient transportation links and plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The two beds could be pushed together, which was perfect for our family of four. We had some incredible fresh, live squid at a restaurant near the hotel; the squid strips were prepared as tempura and it was absolutely delicious! We would definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Fukuoka!
Stayed at the property for 2 nights, it was near to the Hakata Canal City with many restaurants and nightlife. An afternoon tea set is available once PER STAY. The room is also spacious and comes with an ironing board, a fan and even a light ring.Onsite parking is 2500 a day, park at the public carparks nearby at a lower rate.
Cons:
It is quite a walk from the train stations, especially during summer when the heat is crazy.
The room was extremely warm and lack ventilation, the air conditioner is only able to go down to 23 degrees. They provide a fan in the room, which shows they probably know the issue, appreciate the gesture but it still gets really warm in summer.
Also found a piece of plastic packaging on the floor when we checked in, but overall quite clean.
The location is fantastic! Within a 3-5 minute walk, you can find Sushiro, McDonald's, Starbucks, Don Quijote, and my absolute favorite store, Graniph. The hotel operates on a semi-self-service model, meaning rooms aren't cleaned during your stay; only trash bins and towels are changed. They also don't offer complimentary luggage storage, only coin-operated lockers. However, when we needed assistance, the staff were very helpful, for example, arranging a taxi to the airport for us. On the fifth floor, there's an ice machine, microwave, and coin-operated washer and dryer available for guests, which is super convenient.
Extremely satisfied! The location is super convenient, right by the canal. The hotel's design is unique and the service is excellent. They offer a complimentary all-day buffet, so every time you come back to the hotel, you can grab a bite – it really makes you feel at home. The hygiene is also top-notch. In the evenings, there are local-style izakaya street stalls by the canal.
The guy at the front desk, who seemed to be Indian or Nepalese, let us check in over an hour early, which was great. Laundry and dryers are on the 10th floor, and it seems like the front desk, toiletries, pajamas, and coffee are all up there too. It's a bit inconvenient that there's no free luggage storage; they have lockers on the 1st floor that cost 500 JPY. For checkout, you just drop your room card into a box in the elevator. To get here, you transfer one or two stops from Nakasu-Kawabata to Gofukumachi Station, then it's about a 10-minute walk. There's a convenience store nearby.
