A clean and comfortable hotel with lovely, helpful staff. The room was a good size and the shower was excellent. Breakfast was in the linked Hotel Miramar and was of good quality.

A pretty hotel on the edge of the city. With stunning views of the sea and mountain. The facilities are nice and the staff are very professional but friendly with it. Sharing amenities with the other hotels in the complex gives more choice than a single hotel would offer. But there are also plentiful bars and restaurants just a short walk away. All in all we were made to feel special. (The free Madeira wine at reception is a lovely touch)

A welcoming "house" near the center of Funchal with incredible decor. The only downside is that we had to go to the adjacent hotel for breakfast (and have hot meals on request).

We booked the Pestana Quinta Perestrello through Jet2 when it was still new, with hardly any reviews online, so we really didn't know what to expect. What we found was a wonderfully cozy and comfortable spot right in the city. It doesn't feel like a big hotel—it has the warm, quiet charm of a traditional quinta. We felt a genuine sense of comfort here, like a real home base in Funchal. For a new hotel, it's a lovely, peaceful find. We're very glad we chose it.

I'd like to be able to review this hotel without giving a rating because it's difficult. This is a beautiful hotel. It is chic, clean, while still characterful. Our room was so pretty with a balcony and we could see the sea. Special mention of the wonderful staff, all friendly and so helpful. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Excellent buffet and cooked breakfast. Complimentary wine for my husband's birthday. Immaculately clean and excellent room housekeeping (even a turn down service). Location convenient between downtown Funchal (25 mins walk to cable car and most bus connections, about the same to the Lido in the other direction) So why 3 stars instead of 5? For us the experience was spoilt by the hotel being so near a main road roundabout which meant relaxing on the balcony or by the pool was for us a challenge. We were offered another room but didn't think it would make much difference. Having said which guests can share the pools and beautiful gardens in the neighbouring hotel, which we did and enjoyed.
