Sheraton Maldives Full Moon is an excellent resort with a beautiful island setting and a truly relaxing atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly, professional, and always helpful, which really makes the stay memorable and comfortable from start to finish. That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. The entertainment offerings are quite limited and would benefit from enhancement. The kids’ playground should be upgraded as soon as possible, with more engaging and modern facilities. In addition, more activities for adults—especially in the evenings—would greatly enhance the overall guest experience. For water activities, it would be great to see more attractive and value-for-money packages offered, as this would encourage guests to participate more and enjoy the marine experiences the Maldives is famous for. Overall, it is a wonderful resort with outstanding service, and with improvements in entertainment, kids’ facilities, adult activities, and water sports packages, it could easily be one of the best family-friendly resorts in the Maldives.

Traveling with my child, I opted for an island-view twin room. The first thing I noticed upon entering was a strong musty smell. I initially thought it was normal due to the humid seaside environment, but when I upgraded to a water villa later, there was no smell at all. If you're sensitive to smells, definitely avoid the island rooms. While the island rooms are further from the restaurants and pool, they open right onto the beach, which is convenient for kids to play. Secondly, the hot and cold water labels in the room were reversed! Is this acceptable for an established resort? This led to one of us taking a freezing cold shower. We told the butler, and they said someone would come fix it the next day. However, someone knocked on our door to fix the hot water after we had already gone to bed. Speaking of which, I have to complain heavily about the butler. I only saw him once upon arrival and never again. His replies to messages were always delayed by four or five hours, and his answers were completely irrelevant, solving none of my problems. When I asked about upgrading my room at my own expense, he didn't reply. I ended up having to contact Trip.com customer service, and they were the ones who resolved it for me. (I regret tipping him immediately upon arrival, as there was no service whatsoever. Our luggage was delivered half an hour late after being told it would be five minutes.) There were no toothbrushes or slippers in the island room for two consecutive nights, and housekeeping didn't replenish them. I initially thought the hotel was being eco-friendly, but the water villa had everything. Trip.com's page also indicated that island rooms should be equipped with toothbrushes and slippers. When I asked the butler, his answer was again evasive. Here's another very useful piece of information: although the island advertises seven restaurants, very few are open for dinner. You won't have a choice of seven; it's more like two or three. During my stay, the dinner buffet was completely unavailable, and the other six weren't open every day. Some also require reservations, and if you're late, you won't get a table. So, if you've booked three meals a day, pay close attention to what's actually available for dinner. On our first night, the butler didn't even remind us that we could go to dinner. We arrived at 7:30 PM, and dinner closed at 10 PM, so we essentially wasted a dinner. I only found out about this by checking myself. I asked the butler if we could exchange it for lunch on our departure day, but I received no reply until I left! The restaurant information online and from the hotel is vastly inconsistent. Even their official website states the buffet is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Trip.com's page says there's a dinner buffet. The information simply doesn't match up. Bring extra snacks! Aside from the butler and the restaurant opening times, all the other staff members were incredibly, incredibly, incredibly good! When I wanted to check out, my boat was scheduled for 3:30 PM, but I said I wanted to leave sooner. They immediately arranged a boat for me. Every single staff member was smiling and enthusiastic. If you come here, please avoid the butler Ali; he was terrible! I've truly never encountered such a butler. Having this kind of experience on vacation was a huge disappointment.

The island is not far from airport so it is good. There are no other hotels at the island so you just have to do everything at the hotel. For someone not into seasports staying too long at the hotel can be boring. It was low season so there weren't alot of tourists till the day before i checked out. I liked it when it was quieter. Some restaurants are not open everyday and you have to reserve if they are open. The free food credit they give is not very reasonable as it stated you can't eat at another restaurant before using the credit at another restaurant, but why should it be so when i have already paid for a full board and entitled to a fully paid meal at another restaurant already? There was also twice when the restaurant got my orders wrong. They served me fish when i ordered beef and later told me beef has ran out. If so you should tell me so when i ordered and i actually went to the restaurant not long after they open. Also they way they served the fish is as though i ordered it, only when i said i didnt order it they said oh there must be a mistake becos beef has ran out. Then you should explain to me when you took the order, or before you served you inform me and ask me to choose something else instead of giving me the fish. Thus it was quite clear they took the wrong order and not becos there was no beef. The next morning at breakfast which i went very early as well, already the vegetables had ran out at the noodles station. I order egg white omelette and they served me the normal omelette. After that i could hear the staff arguing among themselves who got the wrong order. Had lunch at the Kakuni hut and 1 of the fillet was rubbery, the meat was sticking to the skin and the skin cannot be detached easily as well. It doesn't taste unfresh so u dont know what was the problem. They did redo another fillet for me which is better but the quality wasn't the same as the 2nd piece of fillet on the 1st plate. Anyway for those going, bring your sunblock and most importantly insect repellent as there are lots of mosquitoes there and insect repellent is not provided

The hotel is a bit old, but it's well-maintained. The staff are very friendly and proactively greet guests. However, the guy who checked us out was a bit aloof and didn't smile at all. What's truly commendable is that after we left the hotel by speedboat, we realized we had left an item behind. The staff immediately turned around and went back to the hotel to retrieve it for us. Their professionalism and dedication really deserve praise.

I recently stayed at Sheraton Full Moon Maldives in one of their Overwater Villas, and it was a truly memorable experience. The villa was beautifully designed, clean, and well-maintained — offering direct access to the crystal-clear waters and stunning panoramic views of the ocean. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect escape for relaxation and rejuvenation. The staff throughout the resort were generally excellent — friendly, helpful, and attentive. They handled all requests promptly and with professionalism. A special mention goes to the hotel management team, especially Mr. Megan and a few others, who went above and beyond to resolve a minor incident during our stay. Their approach was calm, respectful, and solution-focused, which left a very positive impression. Most of the team displayed great hospitality, especially at reception, housekeeping, and concierge. However, the only slight downside was at "The Feast" dining area, where a few staff members appeared less engaging and rarely smiled — a contrast to the otherwise warm and welcoming service standard across the resort.

Had a fantastic stay! The room was comfortable, and the restaurants served delicious food. Breakfast and dinner buffets were at Feast, and lunch was at Baan Thai. Our butler, Nuraly Tianyou, was incredibly friendly and attentive.
