This hotel is located on a very secret mountain road. It is difficult to find the location for many protruding cars. It is indeed not ideal, but the environment inside is still very good and very original.

Únicos clientes. Al día siguiente desapareció de Google y Booking. Desayuno no buffet a elegir entre SriLankan o Inglés. Escaso y muy lento. La cena incluida igual que el desayuno. Antiguo edificio histórico con falta de mantenimiento. La piscina sin filtrado funcionando. El aire acondicionado de la habitación solo funcionaba a máxima potencia, había menos ruido para dormir en el avión. De todo menos lujoso. Muy alejado de Galle. Relación calidad precio, nefasta.

Se trata de una antiguo palacio reconvertido. Accesos difíciles, cuidado con Google Maps porque te lleva “Al huerto”. Habitaciones inmensas con muebles de época. Agua caliente, AC, caja fuerte, minibar (vacío) funcionan OK. Wifi solo desde recepción. Olor intenso a especias en la habitación que puede llegar a molestar. Piscina rodeada de la jungla (monos, lagartos, pavos reales…alrededor tuyo) con escasas hamacas y toallas viejas y sucias. Personal frío en la llegada, pero colabora durante la estancia. Desayuno sin buffet. A escoger Western o SriLankan breakfast. Lentísimos! He de decir que de 5 estrellas solo tiene el hecho de estar en un antiguo palacio. Ni el personal, ni el estado de las instalaciones, ni el desayuno están a la altura. Hemos estado en hoteles de estrellas mucho mejores en Sri Lanka.

Very friendly staff. The pool was nice and the pool boy was very friendly and told us about the monkeys in the trees, that we saw while swimming. The breakfast was delicious and big, and the building and garden were beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much.

was managing a wedding at the venue and the staff was absolutely amazing and was very hepful and specially Mister Dilruk whos the head of sales and marketing and his entire staff of the hotel who was on full throttle at the whole event. Huge thank you to the entire team for making the event a success and this is a definiete go to location for your next trip / function. Also dont forget to check out that serene silent swimming pool as well :)

Service is not great at all. Food is very average and it wasnt a pleasent experience for us. The Staff is not attentive to our request and we felt like we were ignored. It was our first stay at this hotel and we dont think that we can recommend this place to our friends

WOW What a stunning looking place. It is a little out of the way down a rough lane but as soon as you are let in through the gates, you arrive at this fabulous old mansion with only 10 rooms and 2 suites upstairs. Our room 5 was to the other side of the grass and pond area, very high ceilings, large bed and dark furniture, everything you would expect. The pool area although small was wonderful and the food very tasty.

Rich history but lots of improvement. The staff at Tamarind Hill Hotel is friendly and accommodating, there are some areas of concern. Although the maintenance is generally good, there were issues with the AC in the suite room, making for an uncomfortable night, especially with a toddler. This is also because of April summer. This property requires maintenance in a lot of areas.

A hidden gem , an exquisite colonial home with grand proportions, beautiful furniture and discreet areas to relax in . Staff are well meaning and in abundance , they may not speak much English- but I didn’t even try to communicate in Singhalese. There are only 12 rooms - all are very spacious and decorated with individual mahogany furniture . It’s NOT the Hilton or Radisson … thank goodness…. So don’t expect mini bar and extensive menu . The dinner from the limited menu was delicious , I would like to have seen more local dishes on offer . No wine license - but take your own. A peaceful retreat , very serene , no piped music, and a feeling that you are staying in a friend’s home. There is a resident turtle in the pond , peacocks grace the courtyard in the morning, monkeys can be seen in the jungle behind , a mongoose crossed the drive this morning. I hope no one spoils this little haven . The pool was clean and we had it to ourselves . Thank you Tamarind Hill .
