Sleep Inn & Suites Galveston Island

Location: Multiple users highlighted the hotel’s convenience for cruise terminals, nearby attractions, and accessibility to local amenities.

We stayed here for two nights, and it was by far one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The room smelled strongly of mildew, there were bugs everywhere (including spiders in the corners), and it was obvious it hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. The lady working Friday night was unhelpful. When we asked about the Wi-Fi, she said it “comes and goes” and claimed our fridge was a “smart fridge” that would turn on once we put something inside — it never did. No one ever came to clean our room on Saturday either. The lady on Saturday morning was much nicer and even admitted that several other guests had complained about the Wi-Fi. She said the manager “Dee” claimed it had been fixed — which was clearly not true. There is absolutely no internet here. Don’t even bother trying to connect; it does not work at all. The towels were cheap and rough, the pillows and beds were uncomfortable, the TV had a pink tint, and the remote didn’t even have a cover. The so-called “breakfast” was barely food, and with how dirty the rooms were, I wouldn’t trust anything prepared there. Another huge inconvenience: the side doors are emergency exit only, meaning you can go out but not back in. When you have to come and go often — especially since there’s no comfort in the room — having to walk around to the front door every single time is ridiculous. There’s also no restaurant or bar, despite what their online description says, and the pool was dirty. To make matters worse, we were woken up more than two hours before checkout, even though no one ever cleaned our room the entire stay. They charge full price but provide half (or less) of the service. Between the bugs, mildew, no Wi-Fi, broken fridge, and uncomfortable beds, there is truly nothing good about this place. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Never staying here again! Booked this hotel for one night before our cruise. I almost opted to stay in my car instead… First off, the room was so humid and wet when we entered the room. We had to turn the AC down low to counter act the humidity. The bed was wet. Like I sat down and it felt like I was on a wet blanket straight out of the washer. The room was just old and you can tell they have no climate control. The outlets, lamps, lamp shades, all were rusted. The bathroom had missing paint all up the wall and missing trim. The room was uncomfortable to sit in. It smelt like mildew and I was very uncomfortable. My fiancé had to continue to remind me that it was just for one night. I will not stay at this hotel or one like it again!
