Howard Johnson by Wyndham Galveston

Staff: The staff is often praised for being friendly and hospitable, like 'The staff was so kind.' and 'Front desk clerk was very nice'

Extremely bad experience during the stay. The tables, chairs, cabinets and light fixtures were rusted and/or peeling paint. The room was not clean and one of the sheets had cigarette burn holes. The overall place was looking unclean and dirty. The ironing table and the fixture and clothes rack were rusted and dirty. The sink had cracks on the basin. The bath tub was very slippery and was a safety hazard. While booking the room the listing said "Cribs are available", however during check in the person at the front desk said there is only crib available and it is being used in one of the rooms - they were not sure which one. The attitude was very dismissive and disrespectful. Even though we mentioned as 3 adults and 1 child, the hotel only provided on 1 bathing soap and only couple of bath towels. Overall the experience was very poor for the ~$150 that we spent on this room. Will never ever recommend or stay in a Howard Johnson hotel any more.

We atay at this property before every cruise, 4 this year. The staff is always happy to see us and very courteous. The property is just 5-10 minutes from terminal, depending on traffic. They also provide parking during cruise but nnot transport to terminal. We will continue to stay there before our cm future cruises
