Maldron Hotel Sandy Road Galway

Our stay at Malden Sandy Road in Galway completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. Every question we had was met with genuine warmth and helpfulness, which set the tone for the rest of our visit. The rooms themselves were spotlessly clean, with no detail overlooked. We stayed as a family of three, and the room configuration with a queen and a single bed worked perfectly for our needs. There was plenty of space for all of us to settle in comfortably without feeling cramped. The overall comfort level made it easy to relax after long days out exploring Galway. It's clear that the hotel takes real pride in both its service and its upkeep. We left feeling well looked after and genuinely impressed by the whole experience. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Malden Sandy Road to other families visiting the area.

High-quality, professional hotel. You have to use a combination of walking and the bus to get to the University or City Center (the hotel is designed for those travelling by car). However, it is a comfortable hotel with friendly staff and a good restaurant and lounge. We stayed for 3 nights at a reasonable price having found a good deal on a hotel aggregator website. A plus nearby is a fruit and vegetable market and a French cafe.

On June 17/2026- June 20/2026 we stayed at the Maldron Hotel located in Galway, Ireland. Upon check in we noted the staff to not be welcoming or interested in our stay there and continued conversation amongst themselves as they checked us in. Once placed in our room we asked if we had a view of the city or a different room was available at which time we were told we had a view of the Courtyard. We looked into another room with a view of a gravel roof. Our rooms were not well cleaned and no cooling was turned on despite the hot/humid room. During our check we found stains on the dresser that had not been cleaned and a large clump of hair on our bed. I took the clump of hair and carpet to the front desk at which time staff responded “so the room wasn’t cleaned properly”. I requested the room be cleaned and all linens and towels be replaced. It was done to a minimal standard. During our three day stay garbage cans were not emptied and beds were poorly made. Comments about Americans” were overheard by staff that although I am not American I found to be inappropriate and unprofessional. During the day I went to sit in a quiet area if the hotel to have a tea and was then joined by three staff members who sat loudly and watched videos on their phones to the point I left. The bathrooms in the rooms were not cleaned and toilets not clean!! I have reached out to management with no response!
