Eyre Square Hotel

This hotel is a little dated but it does have charm. The street noise didn’t bother us and we had a good sleep. Easy and efficient check in.

Building noise in the hotel

This is a dilapidated hotel that is loud and dirty and overall a really bad experience. The experience in the room was that I didn't want to touch anything or take my shoes off. There was mould in the shower, slimy grime on the floor, and surfaces were dirty. The carpet on the ground was shredded and torn up, revealing the construction pad below. The furniture is scratched, nicked all over. The hallway to the room reeked of some sweet air freshener. The doors to the room are loud when you close them, in that they sort of slam. There was a group of college kids staying in the hallway who were clueless, so they kept entering each other's rooms and actually slamming the doors - making the walls shake. This was at 10pm the first night for a couple of hours, and then again at 4am when they all returned. While the hotel can't necessarily control the fact that their guests are going to choose to slam the doors, I couldn't have been the first person to recognize that the doors need to be..fixed. I paid for breakfast and never went because, if the rooms look like this, what does the kitchen look like. The worst part about it is that they charged me a LOT of money to stay - peak season, and I booked a just a couple of weeks in advance. No, you can not charge that much and present a disgusting hotel like this. Wow, wish I had known, I would have stayed anywhere else. The rooms look literally nothing like the ones in the pictures. They are dark, dirty, run down. Really just don't stay here.

The hotel was in a nice location but not having a working elevator soured us on our stay. Dragging suitcases up and down stairs was a major inconvenience. The rooms were nice and the coffee shop in the lobby was a nice touch but hard to rate this hotel highly when you're out of breath

Even by late afternoon the hallways were filled with dirty linen bags. Carpet needed cleaning or replacing. Lock on door did not look adequate. It was during heat wave and windows only opened 2 inches! I had a room in the front and there was a lot of street noise which may be why the windows only opened a small amount. TV did not operate and they determined it was the remote, but they didn't have another so they showed me how to manually work a button on the bottom of the screen. Room was very tired looking and bed not very comfortable.
