Truly a beautifully unique experience! Spacious, great location, sooo clean, the yummiest breakfast and a thoughtful guide book that got us started around Galway fast. Seriously great recommendations from Sorcha especially Sheridan's cheese ! Loved everything about staying and intend to stay again.

My stay at The Heron’s Rest was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth, genuine kindness, and a level of care that immediately made me feel at home. The rooms are beautifully designed, spotless, and extremely comfortable — a perfect blend of charm, elegance, and thoughtful details. The location couldn’t be better: right on the Long Walk, with peaceful waterfront views and just a short stroll from Galway’s vibrant city centre. It’s the ideal base to enjoy the city while still feeling tucked away in a calm, scenic corner. I was especially impressed by the sustainable approach of the property. Everything is carefully considered, from eco-friendly amenities to the emphasis on local, responsible products. The gourmet breakfast hamper was a highlight — filled with fresh, high-quality local ingredients: homemade marmalade, artisan bread, salmon from the Burren Smokehouse, organic yoghurt, fresh fruit… an absolute delight and a wonderful way to start the day. The Heron’s Rest is more than just a place to stay — it’s an experience crafted with passion, authenticity, and heart. I can’t recommend it highly enough and will absolutely return on my next trip to Galway.

Clean and functional. In a noisy courtyard with a mix of residential properties. Excellent hamper more suited to longer stay who want washing facilities and cook own food. No tv radio tricky to use.

Truly the best place I have ever stayed in Galway City. The house was beautiful, private, filled with every amenity you could think of, comfortable beds, great view...the list goes on and on! I would 10/10 stay here again and I absolutely will in the future.

We stayed 10/2/24-10/4/24. This was one of the best stays I've ever experienced. The location is top notch, the service is quick and kind and our unit was impeccable. It feels like you're staying at a friends house, which is exactly what we wanted after a staying at string of generic hotels. The units are right on the sea and a short 5 minute walk from shopping, pubs and some of the best food in Galway. Do yourself a favor and opt for the Heron's Rest, you will not be dissapointed. P.S. If you take the train in, it's only a 15 minute walk to the units from the train station.

Perfect central location for exploring the lively city and local area. In a wonderful position right next to the water’s edge. Stayed in the small courtyard house - comfortable, well maintained and quiet. Super breakfast ingredients, and Sorcha was a lovely host.
