Bolagala Agro Floating Resort

We were booked to stay for two nights but unfortunately decided to leave without staying the first night. I want to start by saying that the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the lunch we had was delicious. The people working there were not the issue. Unfortunately, the room was very different from what we expected based on the online photos. We found a large number of flies in the room, blood stains on two of the doonas, mould in several areas, and the phone was not working, so we couldn't contact reception. We also tried calling and messaging via WhatsApp but received no response. The property itself felt quite run down and appeared much less maintained than advertised. While the concept and location have a lot of potential, the overall cleanliness and condition of the accommodation did not meet expectations. I don't write reviews like this lightly, but I think it's important for future travellers to have an accurate picture of what to expect. I genuinely hope the issues are addressed, as the staff were lovely and the property could be something special with some improvements.

Location was awesome and specially they are taking care of the guest with their best efforts . Food also was awesome and different, actually it was a different experience. Well recommended.

I was very disappointed with my stay here. The place looks beautiful and the environment is calm and relaxing, which is the only good thing I can mention. But everything else did not meet expectations at all. There were no balls available for the pool game, even though it was advertised. The electricity kept going on and off many times, which was very frustrating and uncomfortable. At one point, around 4 times they has to come inside our cabana to fix the electricity issue, which felt very uncomfortable and intrusive. The food was very bland and below average. It did not feel worth the money we paid at all. I could only eat about 4 to 5 spoons and had to leave the rest. It felt like a complete waste of money. On top of that, the service was very poor and unprofessional. Staff did not seem organized or attentive to guests. Many of the complimentary activities they promoted were not available, which was very disappointing because we were looking forward to them. It felt like we paid a high price but did not receive the full experience that was promised. Kayaking was fun and that was the only activity that was available. Also, the road to reach the location is not in good condition, which made the journey a bit difficult. Overall, I feel like we wasted our money. I would only recommend choosing the bed and breakfast option if you really want to visit, just to enjoy the environment, but do not expect much more than that.

LocThe location is satisfactory, and the atmosphere is excellent. The staff are very friendly. The condition of the room requires some improvements; however, no major issues were identified. Overall, the price is slightly higher relative to the value received.

I celebrated my 25th birthday at Bolagala, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The staff were very helpful, kind, and attentive throughout our stay. Our butler, Nithya, was super nice to us always smiling, friendly, and making sure everything was perfect. The kayaking experience was also amazing, and the young boy who assisted us was very helpful and supportive. Thank you for making my birthday celebration so special and memorable!
