The bed was comfy. The view was amazing. The staff were very friendly. The location is very close to downtown but up a hill so very very quiet. The food is good, EXCEPT the mutton biryani. Don't order the Mutton Biryani it was just tough fatty meat that you couldn't chew unless you want to feel like you're chewing on an old piece of gum.

Our journey to Kandy was a long-waited family trip for few months. All were busy with their agendas and waiting to take a break. This time we selected Theva Residency, it was a perfect choice!!! An ideal location up in the mountains with an amazing view throughout the day. The uniqueness was you are able to enjoy the mountain view from your room, pool and the restaurant. The staff were exceptionally hospitable, and they always look for opportunities to anticipate our needs and exceed those. Food was excellent. A great location for Equilibrium and a fun filled holiday experience. We will definitely be back. Suranga, Tharanga , Thaviru and Vihansie

This is our 4th visit. It has now become a regular feature in our tour itinerary. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of central kandy and yet be within a convenient motorable distance, this is the place for you. The service is personal with a butler. The place is exquisitely clean. The background music in the restaurant is hauntingly beautiful. And it IS in the background. Our room had the most comfortable bed i have slept in anywhere. The bathroom is the best designed i have come across. Front office manager mr udaya and the butler miss niluka, deserve special mention. We shall surely return. Dr asoka weerakkody

This hotel is on the top of the mountain. The view is very good, the environment is OK, the building is very distinctive, including the decoration of the room, but the worst thing is that the hygiene is very worrying, the door is a bit old, the refrigerator is so dirty that you can't get it off, and there are stains under the toilet seat There were urine stains and hair on the bed. The bed was two beds pushed together and it was uncomfortable to sleep on. The quilt was a sheet and was too tight to pull out. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Fortunately, there was a blanket in the cabinet to cover it with. Regarding the food, it’s not good either.

The rooms are open to a balcony and it is a treat to have tea viewing the magnificent mountains.. The level of hospitality matches the famed Celonese hospitality and will be remembered for long and a must experience in Sri Lanka visit..

The old five-star hotel is located on the Mahaweli River, the mother river of Sri Lanka. It is a must-have hotel for Kandy people to get married. The British service standard is very good. Compared with other Sri Lankan hotels, the check-in and check-out are very fast. The software service makes up for the old facilities deficiencies, it is recommended

Without doubt one of the best nature resorts I stayed during my time in Sri Lanka! Everything here was eco friendly. The staff were extremely friendly and caring, the restaurant was very flexible (appreciate this!) and the executive Chef Mr. Debehabuwa deserves a special thanks for making sure we enjoyed every meal we had. We had three great days here, which obviously also added up to the experience. The food, the green lush surroundings and the view from the villas were absolutely amazing. If you are a nature lover and need a quiet but a surreal experience with nature this is the place to be. I’d highly recommend Tree of Life if you are visiting Kandy.

The Elephant Stables was the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka! The hotel is nestled in the hills above Kandy city, making it very peaceful and relaxing, but within a short distance to all the cities attractions. The view from the garden and infinity pool is spectacular, and we wish we had had more time to enjoy the property. The staff is what makes this place so amazing - they are so friendly and attentive, with the food being the best we’ve had in all Sri Lanka. Don’t skip out on the dinner menu and ensure you have time to enjoy their delicious breakfast. We can’t wait to recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Kandy.

The hotel is over a hundred years old, since 1844. I felt as though I went through a time portal when I stepped into the dining area. Part of the hotel’s appeal is the history of the hotel. Don’t expect a modern hotel but rather embrace the well-detailed history on display throughout the hotel. The hotel is located in the heart of the downtown area.
