Americas Best Value Inn Gaylord

We had planned on staying at this location but a week prior to our arrival we both came down with COVID. We called and cancelled, being told we did not need a cancellation number as it would be fine. A week after we were supposed to be there, our credit card was charged. We called them for a refund and they said that was not possible. He said his computer system could not find us, even though we had a reservation confirmation number, but yet we were still charged. He told us to call our bank to get a refund. Seems pretty shady to us.

My son and I stayed here in late Sept., for one night. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask whether we could stay on the first floor or if they had an elevator for the second floor. Our room was on the second floor, and my bad knees had difficulty climbing the (very long) steps to the second floor. We were winded and in need a a drink of water, so I sent my son out to get some ice for us. Unfortunately, there was NO ice machine on the second floor. We called the front desk and he informed us that there was ice available, but only if we came back down to the first floor...The room was ok, but didn't appear to be as clean as we expected. A good vacuuming would have helped, and the room phone was totally gross---it looked like it hadn't been wiped down for a very long time. On the plus side, the young man at the front desk was very pleasant and courteous. Basically, this place just needs some sprucing up.

If you want a fair price, a good clean room, continental breakfast, then this place is for you. All staff was wonderful during our stay. It was quiet despite being near the freeway. Good choices for breakfast.

Price is right. Good morning breakfast. The front desk manager is great. Very friendly a**osphere and is well kept up. The highway is close but the rooms are very quiet, didn't hear a thing. Rooms are clean as well as the common area. Bed's are just righ
