The building and rooms felt clean. I thought it was good. However, the area around Gdańsk felt inconvenient without a car, much like in Japan, with lots of cars and dust kicked up. The surrounding environment didn't feel clean. There was a convenience store next door, which was convenient. The convenience store worker seemed a bit shy, but after I visited several times and asked him about local food and drinks, he gradually warmed up to me and diligently helped me. He was a very simple and kind person. While Google Maps shows it's close to the airport, it was on the opposite side of the runway from the airport entrance, so I had to take a bus for 13 stops to get there. The bus only ran once every 30 minutes. Of course, the schedule wasn't timed to coincide with flight times, so there were no buses early in the morning or late at night. My flight the next day was at 7:15 AM, so I woke up at 3 AM and left the hotel at 4:30 AM. Since there was no other way to get to the airport, I booked a taxi the night before. There was a taxi card at the unmanned front desk, so I called the number. They asked for my address, so I read the Polish writing on the hotel entrance door. The woman on the phone then confirmed the hotel name, "Sleep Port?" I realized that many guests staying here regularly use taxis. Without a taxi, it would be impossible to travel to the airport in time for a flight. I had thought I could walk to the airport entrance, so it was very inconvenient. From the bus stop, you have to walk through dust, and there are no buses early in the morning or late at night. Without a taxi, I couldn't catch my flight, and the fare wasn't extremely cheap—only slightly cheaper. From the taxi, I looked at the hotel directly in front of the airport entrance, thinking that even if it was a little more expensive, it might be more reasonable overall. The taxi driver was kind, gentle, and a really nice person. Meeting him made me feel like my trip would proceed safely and securely. I'm glad I met him.
