Dolores Lake Resort

This property is in need of a major overhaul, including its staff training. It's a real shame as the property has a really nice position on the lake but, apart from two or three tables in the dining room, there is nowhere to sit and enjoy the lake, unlike the Punta Isla hotel next door. There were very few guests staying but we were given what was effectively an inside room on the ground floor near the pool. Whilst the room was reasonably large, the noise from the pool, the noise from the aircon and the bathroom extractor fan made it an uncomfortable stay. The bathroom shower was in poor condition, being weak and not very warm. On our first night we turned up for dinner at 7pm to be told that the kitchen had closed at 6.30pm so we had nothing to eat. Breakfast was good and when we made sure to turn up early for dinner, the food was good. The staff are poorly turned out in terms of dress sense and have very little training in being waiters. I appreciate this hotel is in a slightly remote area, but with some investment from the owners, they could easily improve the standard and performance of their property.

Nice place to stay . Ask for anything and they will get it for you ! Good restaurant.

Hotel was clean but rooms weren't made up each day unless you asked. Couldn't get tv to work properly so gave up and used WiFi. Location good. Breakfast ok Pool good

Very nice place with a nice pool. Food and service was good. We checked out at 5:00 am. I had asked if we needed to take care of everything the night before and told we can just do it in the morning. At 4:45 a.m. I went to the counter and the security guard was asleep on the couch. No Biggy but I woke him up to check out. He had no clue what to do. He woke up another employee and he had no idea. They called someone and she tried to explain how to charge my card. The guy took my card and actually slid it under the machine, not in it. I went behind the counter and had to unsnap the machine to get my card out. The lady on the phone was trying to tell me how to operate it. I could not understand her. Now 5:30, my driver in honking saying we have to go. I told them I would call and make payment over the phone. Then they say they can't take it over the phone. It turned into a mess. After two weeks, I finally got them to send me a name and sent them money by Western Union. They refused to do this for the past two weeks. This issue some what ruined the trip.
