Tijdens ons verblijf hebben wij 2 nachten doorgebracht in die Reichsstadt, een modern 4-Sterrenhotel in het centrum van Gengenbach. Een kleinschalig wellness boutique hotel met jacuzzi, buitenzwembad en saunafaciteiten. Bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, van receptie tot bediening, ontbijt en diner. We logeerden in een moderne ruime luxe kamer met een fantastische douche. ‘s ochtends gebruik gemaakt van het uitgebreid ontbijt geserveerd in buffetvorm met diverse warme en koude gerechten. ‘s avonds hebben we 2 avonden gedineerd in het restaurant van het hotel. Uitstekende keuken, top kwaliteit van de gerechten, mooie wijnen en kundig personeel. Het restaurant was wel redelijk aan de prijs. Al met al een prima verblijf, de moeite waard om nog eens terug te komen .

Gosh what can I say? My husband and I loved this hotel. It’s old yet new and is superb. We have stayed here before and had returned because we loved it so much. The hotel is even better than it was a few years ago. They now have a small pool and saunas. The beds are super comfortable. The staff are great. The breakfasts excellent and the restaurants attached to the hotel are fantastic. The town of Gengenbach is beautiful. The hikes are beautiful. Eating breakfast outside in a walled garden on a spring morning well it doesn’t get any better. We would return in a heartbeat.

Great location in the middle of the old town. The spa area, the pools and the small garden form an island of calm. Great design with a successful mix of modern and old! Half-timbering meets concrete... both restaurants offer excellent food, the staff is helpful and always friendly. All in all, a great a**osphere! What is particularly important to me: even as a solo traveler with a relatively large dog, you are welcome here! The restrictions are reduced to the bare minimum, namely where the dog really has no business being, such as at the buffet by the pool or in the spa area. Thank you for five great and relaxing days. We would love to come back.

We loved staying in this hotel in Gengenbach. Service is excellent. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The room was a decent size with all amenities for tea and coffee. They have a great breakfast and even offer a small lunch for free. We didn’t use the pool and spa facilities but they are available. It has a lovely restaurant sitting area outside to have all meals in summer. The AC worked well in our room and we looked out into a lovely view of the mountains. The only con was the shower. The floor becomes very wet as there is no threshold and for a four star I expected more shower amenities.

We love going to this first-class private hotel. The rooms and beds are very nice. Sometimes a bit dark with only one window. The restaurant and the service are an absolute highlight. The many trainees and the other employees in the hotel are first-class motivated and extremely friendly and competent. The breakfast is always a great treat. Everything is regional and without packaging. Juice and vegetable presses. The best baked goods. The finest sausage and cheese from the region. Lots of first-class teas. Very good coffee. Guests are given a delicious free snack in the afternoon. Very small point of criticism - the "energy flat rate" that you are presented with on departure at €2 per person per night should either be communicated or the room prices should be increased by €4. This is problematic for expense reports and for the guest's understanding and not worthy of a hotel with this standard.

Despite the size of the establishment, you feel very welcome and well looked after. The rooms are pleasantly unconventional and clean. The staff and the manager are very attentive and courteous and help with planning leisure activities with up-to-date advice. The spa area has various saunas, although they are a bit small, and an outdoor pool. The relaxation area is spacious. The restaurant is in the upper price segment, but highly recommended. We had a very nice weekend in this hotel and will definitely come back.
