Ascott Gurney Penang

This is a great hotel in a good location. It's quiet and comfortable, and only a 10 Ringgit taxi ride from George Town. There's a beach park right outside, and a shopping center nearby. The breakfast is also good with a wide variety of choices.

A lovely lady who spoke Chinese helped us out, assigning us a room on the 20th floor with fantastic views. They even added an extra bed for free! The room was really spacious, with sea-view windows in both the living room and two bedrooms. One of the bathrooms had a bathtub right next to the window – a lovely touch. The toiletries were an Australian brand and really good quality. The kitchen was well-equipped, and there was a washing machine too, though they only provide one laundry pod for free; additional ones cost 3 yuan. Right downstairs, there's a restaurant called "Kam Ma Che Noodle Shop" which was excellent! We ended up having breakfast there both days.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel. I mentioned beforehand that I was celebrating a birthday, and the hotel arranged room decorations and even provided a small cake. Although the hotel isn't in the absolute center of George Town, its location is relatively quiet. They also offer a shuttle bus to the city center and Batu Ferringhi Beach, which is very convenient.

The room was very spacious, likely an apartment converted into a hotel. Not only was there a large bed, but also a separate walk-in closet and a kitchen. The window offered a partial sea view, and the bathroom was huge with a separate wet and dry area. The facilities were excellent, including an infinity pool, a gym, and a yoga studio. The gym had treadmills, dumbbells, elliptical machines, etc., sufficient for basic fitness needs.

Spacious and modern, great location, perfect for a trip with friends. The largest room has a kitchen and amazing sea views from both the room and the bathroom. The only downside is that a lot of birds drink from the pool. Overall, it's fantastic!
