Jen Penang Georgetown by Shangri-La

Is check-in always at 3 PM here? And do they make you wait even then? That's too much. The hotel's location isn't great; getting to the street art area was inconvenient. It's less than 1km away, but waiting for public transport took forever, and no taxis would pick up the fare. The elevator was fast, though, so no long waits there. The outdoor pool looked a bit unsanitary after the rain. At check-in, the front desk didn't mention any of the facilities—not even a 3-star level of service. The air conditioning was very noisy, and the bed was uncomfortable; my back hurt after sleeping on it.

The location is quite convenient. They upgraded me to a family room, even though I didn't really need it as I was traveling alone. What I don't understand is why the shower dispenser had lotion instead of conditioner; that needs improvement. Breakfast was very rich and there was plenty to eat: bread, noodles, chicken, fish, vegetables, fried rice, coffee, and juice.

Great location, good breakfast, highly recommended. I stayed in three hotels during my trip to Penang: The Wembley, Courtyard, and Shangri-La JEN. Shangri-La JEN was my favorite among them.

The suite room type is excellent, super spacious, with a large bed plus a huge sofa bed, so a family of three doesn't have to squeeze together and can sleep more comfortably. The room facilities are very complete, with a large round table, a sink, a refrigerator, and more, making it convenient for in-room dining. The restaurant on the first floor offers Western food outside of breakfast hours, which you can try.

Conveniently located near Art Street, Chew Jetty, and markets for easy browsing. Even on the 13th floor, you can still hear cars driving by at night. Everything was great, I'll definitely stay here again next time for accommodation and delicious food! 🥰
