Arrived from BC for check in at 2:45 pm. Room not ready. Told I could change in the pool room BR. Parked the car by our room which was in the “motel” Housekeeping staff said it would be a few minutes. Sat in a chair outside the room in the extreme heat. She was being pulled in all directions by other guests in a similar situation. Had a wedding ceremony at 4 pm at the Briars. The housekeeper was kind enough to tell me I could get changed in the room while she cleaned. BR filthy with wafts of long dark hair in the shower, BR sink and tile floor. Cleaning staff very accommodating. Ramada Inn reception had told me me there was a wedding on site the day before and the guests would not leave, some had only gone to bed at 7 am. “There was nothing we could do. We couldn’t just put their stuff outside” That’s just the way it is here”. By 4:05 pm I still didn’t have a key and I called the desk demanding a key. Asad the manager hung up on me. We got our key after the wedding at midnight. The next day I spoke privately with the GM Asad and explained what had happened from my perspective. I said “housekeeping was run off their feet” and he said, with a chuckle, that’s their job” He was more interested in defending the previous guests whose wedding was on site. He said he could extend my check out which was not helpful to me. To me, this check in was deplorable and unlike anything I have ever experienced. I told him it was “unacceptable.”
