I would like to share my honest experience regarding this hotel stay. To be fair and transparent, I strongly believe this is not an appropriate place for families with young children or teenagers. Although we had a confirmed booking, we ultimately chose not to stay due to a series of concerning incidents. We reached the hotel and went to the washrooms! Within minutes, a few women entered, and I witnessed behavior that made us extremely uncomfortable, especially given that my child was present. I immediately went to reception to request medical assistance due to my injury, but the only response I received was that it would cost $130, with no further support or concern shown. We were then told check-in would be around 7–8 a.m. When I returned to the washroom, my daughter was still inside, unwell with stomach pain, which added to the distress of the situation. The ladies had gone but another woman came after a few minutes, the woman approached me and made an inappropriate remark implying an offer of sexual services, asking, “Do you want me to make you happy?” This was deeply unsettling, particularly in a family environment. I ignored her and asked her to stay away. These behaviours are against the law in Egypt and are not acceptable in any public or hospitality setting. During this time, the woman was also smoking in the washroom, yet no smoke alarms were triggered. This was extremely alarming and raised serious concerns about safety standards within the property. During this time, there were additional issues with staff behavior. Housekeeping (MALE) entered the area twice unnecessarily, which felt intrusive and unprofessional. There were also concerns raised about the smell of smoke, which seemed to be ignored by staff. Later, I spoke to the manager, Victor, but unfortunately found him dismissive and unhelpful. I observed that the same individuals were still present on the premises, despite being told otherwise. This raised serious concerns about the management’s honesty and control over the environment. There was also a loud altercation involving another guest. The way staff handled the situation was highly unprofessional, there was shouting BY THE STAFF MEMBERS and a lack of basic customer service, which escalated publicly in the lobby. To make matters worse, a staff member objected to my daughter recording the situation, while it appeared that other staff were recording as well. This double standard was unacceptable. Finally, upon leaving, we were asked to pay an unexpected parking fee, which felt unreasonable given the circumstances. I am, however, glad that the booking was not cancelled, as it has given me the opportunity to share this experience so that others are aware. I have escalated this matter to senior leadership, including the CEO and executive team. What is particularly alarming is that I later received a message on the platform stating that the issue had been resolved, this is completely untrue. I will be attaching all supporting evidence, including photos. Overall, the staff appeared poorly trained, the management ineffective, and the environment unsuitable for families. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel. Families seeking a safe and respectful environment would be better advised to consider alternative accommodations where professionalism and standards are maintained. Lastly, I would like to add that I am a frequent user of Marriott properties outside of Egypt, and this experience will not stop me from using the brand worldwide, as I have consistently experienced high standards and excellent staff in other locations.

Located in Old Cairo, close to the Nile and the Egyptian National Museum. The hotel has several spacious restaurants offering different cuisines, and the staff are all English-speaking and helpful.

I originally booked this hotel based solely on location and I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is modern and well maintained, unlike many other hotels in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and very nicely done. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in Cairo.

I didn't have high expectations for accommodation in Egypt, so overall, I thought it was pretty good. The room was quite large, a bit old but reasonably clean. The bathroom was okay, but the sink was too small with no space for toiletries, and most importantly, it was leaking. The bed was comfortable, the bedding was clean, and the pillows were very comfy, so we slept soundly and rested well. They provide two complimentary bottles of water daily, and you can ask the front desk for more if needed. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The hotel offers disposable slippers but no toothbrushes or other toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options and good taste, enough to fill you up before starting your day.

The hygiene was excellent, and the room was very spacious and clean, meeting the usual Sheraton standards. The facilities were quite new, and there were several restaurants, though they closed relatively early in the evening. There was also a pool, gym, and conference center. The environment was impressive, with a large lobby connected to a cafe and restaurants. The hotel consists of two buildings, linked by a swimming pool on the second-floor skybridge. It’s a rather grand, traditional five-star hotel. The service, both in the restaurants and room service, was very good, especially in the breakfast restaurant. Even though it was busy, the staff were always smiling and welcoming. The breakfast restaurant has an excellent location, directly overlooking the most beautiful stretch of the Nile River. The breakfast spread was very generous, and all the juices were freshly squeezed.

The location and service are both excellent. The facilities are much newer compared to the Hilton across the street. The only downside is that parking is a bit difficult right at the entrance.

The room was spacious and clean, with complete facilities, though a bit dated. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the Old City by the Nile, offering great views from the window – the Nile sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. It's a short taxi ride to the old Egyptian Museum. However, traffic in the Old City center can be congested, making travel times longer. If you want to experience the Old City's charm and the Nile scenery, this is a good choice. Hotels in Egypt aren't the best value for money; they tend to be on the pricier side.

We stayed in the new building, and it was fantastic. The hotel's interior, both the facilities and the ambiance, felt very much like what you'd find in China. However, just outside the hotel, it was a completely different world, truly Egypt. The hotel not only has restaurants but also entertainment facilities, and there's a bank for currency exchange on the ground floor. Everything is very convenient! The location is also excellent. We chose a Nile-view room, and whether it was watching the sunrise or the night view, it was incredibly enjoyable! We'll definitely book this place again next time we visit.

The service was quite good. Lower floors near the road can be a bit noisy, but higher floors are fine. They upgraded our room type, and the room was large and clean, with quick service response. The hotel has many restaurants; the ramen and fried chicken at the Japanese restaurant were a lifesaver for my 'Chinese stomach' – I really couldn't eat any more 'Western food.' The view from the Nile corner is excellent; if you get up early, you can see a beautiful sunrise. It's a bit far from the airport but convenient for visiting the pyramids. My friend's room was even higher and offered a direct view of the pyramids; with a camera, you can get some amazing shots.
