It’s super nice. The attitude of the front desk staff is also very good. The room is quiet and clean.

Positives - friendly check-in from the receptionist (american lady), and a great location for the purpose of our stay. Negatives - Very tired decor, and quite a dingey feel to the small double room. I expected much more for the price. There was a broken floor tile in the bathroom. The bath was very small. The breakfast was poor, especially the coffee.

Lovely warm, comfortable hotel with Scottish themed decoration. Very clean. Breakfast absolutely delicious, freshly cooked and plentiful. Friendly waitress at breakfast too. Minor point but I would have preferred larger bath towel. Would definitely stay again.

A fine stopover in Glasgow if you are on your way further toward Highlands, or Islands or elsewhere. Situated near to good eateries and to what seems a student area of Glasgow, meaning good value-good eats. This is important if you are on the B&B side. The room has a twin bed, but I was a comfortable diminutive in there. The shower is good and this is one place during my Heb Way where good heating was assured. A shame that the Hotel-side restaurant is only open a few days in the week, but as said above, there are plenty of other eateries locally. For those new to Glasgow, as I was, and if you are not already informed of the fact, Glasgow is hilly. If you are a cyclist, this may be your first test, especially the route that Google Maps takes you. A further note is that they let me keep my bicycle in what seemed like a function room as they have no other dedicated cycle storage. The breakfast offer was good.

Held up at the airport, called to let desk know about late arrival and told there was someone there all night. When arrived noone was there. Called, no answer. After half an hour went around the desk and found my keys and let myself in. Hour later got a knock on the door to get dressed, go across the street to check in. Checked out two days later at 10am and noone there again. Oh and had to go down a flight of stairs then up another flight of stairs to our room.

Stayed here recently after I attended Elton John at the Hydro. Normally when we attend gigs at the Hydro we try & book the hotels right next to there but after a few cancellations of the gig due to Covid & 4 years after booking the ticket, availability nearby wasn’t an option. I have to say I wasn’t expecting as much but I was very pleasantly surprised how lovely this was. The room we had was massive, with a double bed, and single, both very comfortable, table & chairs, equipped with lots of tea & coffee, hairdryer, plenty of towels, A flatscreen tv. The room was spotless. We were on the ground floor, massive bay window. No noise coming from outside even though the windows was open. We had to check in over the road and breakfast was also there and it was absolutely lovely. Staff were very friendly & attentive. It was a very warm day and the room was hot however, we prepared for this and had our own fans so this wasn’t an issue. All in all, it was a lovely stay & in comparison to other hotels that I’ve booked nearer the hydro, where you can’t swing in a cat in there, the 10 minute walk is worth it. I’d definitely stay there again.

The Argyll Guest House is in a perfect location for exploring Glasgow’s West End being only 5minutes walk from Kelvingrove Museum and 10minutes from the thriving University area. There is a direct, regular bus link to the airport and main coach station and there are lots of very good restaurants and pubs close by. Our room was large and comfortable with a small bathtub in the bathroom. There were plenty of tea/coffee making facilities and the free Wi-Fi was good. The bed was comfortable too. There are ironing facilities available in the lobby. Breakfasts were excellent- they are buffet style taken in the Argyll Hotel on the opposite side of the road. There was plenty of choice including bacon, black pudding, sausages, tomatoes, scrambled or boiled eggs, beans, mushrooms, potato pancakes plus plenty of cereal and yoghurt choices. The waiting staff were friendly too. If you want a reasonably priced 3* hotel in a good West End location then look no further than the Argyll Guest House.

I stayed overnight for a nearby concert. Room & bathroom very small but clean. Great for an overnight but you wouldn't want to stay too many nights. Excellent breakfast staff helpful Great location. Excellent value for the price. Oh and if the radiator is too warm....turn it off!
