The staff at Holiday Inn in Glen Rose was pleasant and helpful. This hotel is newly renovated, so the rooms and lobby are beautifully updated and clean.
Breakfast had a nice selection and had some healthier options like turkey sausage that I really appreciated as someone with gastrointestinal issues that cannot eat pork.
My only problem I had with this hotel is that my family went to Glen Rose during spring break and were extremely bummed that the pool was green all 3 nights we were there. By the morning we left it finally seemed to be clearing up, but we were not able to use this amenity which is always a highlight in my family's getaways.
What was more frustrating for me is that this Holiday Inn was set at a higher price point in comparison to nearby hotels (most of which had functioning pools). So, although the accommodations may have been newer than some of the other hotels in the area, they didn't have access to what my family feels is the most important amenity, which was just really disappointing.
Overall, we did have a decent stay here. It's just very unfortunate that I picked the more expensive hotel in the area, hoping to avoid any issues, yet we were not able to utilize the pool as we like to do on all our family trips.
