For my birthday this year, I stayed at the luxurious Glencoe House in the Scottish Highlands. It is nestled amidst a dramatic mountain scenery and has a great history – the staff told us it was originally built for Lord Strathcona and the additional detail they provided was fascinating. We stayed in a suite in the main house, which had stunning views over Loch Leven and surrounding peaks. We also had a private outdoor space with a hot tub. What really made Glencoe House stand out was its idyllic setting, the lake, private gardens and excellent food, from locally sourced ingredients. The food was provided directly to the room, which allowed us to to dine while taking in the dramatic views of the loch - we were then able to retire to the hot-tub after to watch the sunset.

We had a wonderful stay at Glencoe House. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The history of the House is very interesting. We stayed in Suite 6 which had a huge bathroom with a large soaking tub in the middle, and a lovely alcove for dining in the living room with a view of the mountains. Since we were only there for one night, our hiking was limited to a very scenic 1 mile loop around the lake. We'd love to go back for more hiking in the area. The dinner, breakfast and service were first rate. Overall a great experience at a Scottish country inn and we would return in a heartbeat.

Wow. Such an amazing place to stay. My wife and I stayed in the lodge for two nights. The only complaint that I have is that we didn't stay longer. I wish we had stayed longer because it was an absolutely amazing place to stay. We stayed in one of the lodges that is self catering. They provide a stocked refrigerator that has fresh breakfast foods and they also have complimentary, high quality, frozen meals that you can cook at night. The rooms are very well appointed with a comfortable bed, a fireplace, dishwasher, kitchen, washer, dryer, jacuzzi, kitchen table, cookware, and more. I am not joking when I say that a person could actually live here because the whole lodge is quite large and has everything that you need. If you find yourself in Glencoe, you must stay here. It is one of my favorite places that I have ever stayed. Just fantastic.

What a wonderful surprise! We loved our stay. Very pretty manor converted into a hotel. Authentic and full of charm. Ideally located to enjoy this beautiful region. We loved that dinner and breakfast were served in the room. Special mention to chef Sébastien for his tasty cuisine and his kindness. A big thank you for the welcome and the little touches for the children.

Second visit to Glencoe House, staying in suite 8. The location and property are excellent, Sebastian’s food is ridiculously good and service is faultless. A hotel is still just a hotel and the staff make or break it and the team at Glencoe are exceptional. We’ll definitely be making a third visit.

Excellent overnight stay in celebration of my 40th birthday. We stayed in suite 8 with hot tub which was perfect - huge terrace outside and very secluded. The suite was large and beautifully decorated with a real Chris**as tree, a well stocked (and very fair priced) bar and a super comfortable bed made for a great night sleep! Our dinner and breakfast were absolutely fantastic - the chef (Seb) went above and beyond as did all staff we met to ensure our stay was top class - a special mention to Angela for making our stay that extra bit special. Our first time here but hopefully not the last!

Graham and his team offer unrivalled hospitality and customer service. Fabulous location and a truly unique experience. This was our 3rd visit and each one has been equally magnificent. An early morning pre breakfast walk around the lake is a must, and if you’re quiet you’ll probably see deer 🦌 drinking, The food is magnificent 👌.

Absolutely amazing experience staying at Glencoe House. Staff was amazing & the accommodations were incredible! We had dinner and breakfast in our enormous room (suite 5) and couldn’t have imagined a better experience! Every room was gorgeous. Loved the surrounding area with the various trails around the lake. Sitting in the backyard overlooking the harbor was so peaceful. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Thanks Glencoe House for making our stay so incredible!!! Hope we’re fortunate enough to return

I have no words - this hotel is truly magnificent and luxury at its finest. We stayed in suite 6 (apparently one of the ‘smaller’ suites). It was huge, clean, romantic and cosy! It couldn’t have been more Chris**assy. Persian style rugs throughout, a Chris**as tree in the lounge and a beautiful bathroom with stand-alone bath and monsoon shower. Dinner is served to the table - I felt like royalty! It was such an intimate and private experience being in your own cosy setting at dinner - the food was delicious. The suites have ‘maxi’ bars and they are incredibly reasonably priced, (unlike the majority of ‘mini’ bars in Europe which charge you an arm & a leg for a Diet Coke). We had to leave a night earlier than expected due to my boyfriends work commi**ents and the hotel was so understanding - the chef made us sandwiches to take en route as we were leaving in the middle of the night and consequentially would miss out on breakfast. The reception team, waitresses & staff are so friendly attentive - nothing is too much trouble. Everything was truly 5* and we can’t wait to come back later on next year. Thank you Glencoe House for an unforgettable experience - my only regret was leaving!
