Lion Quays Resort

We stayed Friday night.The room was fine- very clean. Had a lovely meal in the Indian restaurant- the staff were very friendly and the food was great. Nice cocktail in the Waterside afterwards. Reception staff were helpful and polite- particularly the night staff. Breakfast was plentiful- coffee machine was playing up. Only complaint would be of other guests not waiting to be seated and complaining of lack of croissants!!! We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again.

Excellent hotel food top draw

I have stopped at Lion Quays once before. Both occasions were before hospital appointments at the. RJAH orthopedic hospital which is an 8 minute drive so perfect for friends or family. The hotel is great and is great value with free use of the pool and spa.

The room was spotless and had all the amenities you needed. The spa was beautiful and extremely clean and very relaxing. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive particularly Sophie who couldn’t be more helpful and I’d like to say a personal thank you to her. The food was probably one of the best meals iv had in a hotel. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody.

Visited with my daughters for my birthday treat. Booked a Relax & Renew experience which included a mini treatment and 2 course lunch. Mini facial was lovely/relaxing and beautician was very friendly. From there we had use of the spa. Lovely area but lots of TLC required, some showers not working, not all jacuzzi areas were working in the spa pool, broken tiles and hole in side of pool wall! Spent around an hour and half in there then off for a two course lunch. No drink included in the package but ordered a delicious sea food mezze. No waitress came over to clear our plates once finished so I went to the bar to pay for our drinks and enquire about the second course, to be told its only one course now. Even when I showed my confirmation booking stating two courses I was told it's only one now. The food was lovely but a courtesy email outlining changes to what we had paid for would have been nice. Lovely day, but spoilt slightly by needy repairs and customer service.

Staff were super polite, friendly and helpful! The room wasn’t the best however, TV worked but the only thing that worked on it was the radio… you could hear every door slam, conversation and foot steps around you and the complimentary water in the room was sparkling water. The pool was nice but it was cold, the spa was amazing but we found out we wasn’t actually allowed to be in there which was a massive disappointment… overall the hotel is okay but I don’t think we’ll be coming back. Wasn’t worth the money.

We last visited this hotel 8 years ago, so expected a few changes. Some good, some not so good. Firstly, the Spa had made some improvements. The staff were lovely, especially Connor. We weren't aware we had lunch included, which was a bonus. The meal in the restaurant was delicious. I chose Lamb hotpot, the only downside was the tiny dish it came in, coupled with large cutlery. The vegetables came in small pots. Normally, I would tip it on to a plate, but unfortunately, it was served on a wooden block. I hope the trend for plates returns! The 'not so good.' Nothing that can't be improved on. I had booked everything over the phone, including a twin room, as I was with my daughter. We arrived to find a double bed. The room was comfortable but could do with an update. I had booked our spa treatments, but the change of timing I made wasn't passed on at reception. When we got to the spa, our timings had changed again, and now, everyone arrives at the same time, so it's busy, noisy, and a fight for a changing room. Not the relaxing break we hoped for. There was a nice gift of wine, cake and sweets for my daughter's birthday which was appreciated. As for the spa treatments, we were disappointed that one I had previously was not available. The mud wrap with massage. Now, it's a DIY job. The breakfast was OK except the eggs were hard as a buffet. We did ask reception about wi-fi, but we found you could only use it in the dining room. Mixed feelings, but if they could go back to how the spa was run before and just make a few changes, it would improve the experience.

Had an amazing trip! Me and my partner came here for the night and spent the evening in the restaurant/ bar, we want to send a big thank you to John working at the bar who was so helpful and polite. Upon entering the room, cleanliness was noticeably lacking, with marks on the sink and dirty bed linen. Seeking a resolution, we returned to the reception to change rooms, only to find ourselves downgraded to a smaller one. The noise level in the room was unbearable, compounded by a malfunctioning TV. Most concerning of all, we encountered numerous bugs during our stay. Overall, the experience was disappointing and fell far short of expectations. Despite reaching out via email, we have yet to receive a response even after a week, adding to the frustration of the situation.
