Holiday Inn Express & Suites MINNEAPOLIS – WEST END by IHG

Currently being renovated, checked in to get to room and find someone else already in there. Hot tub listed and in pictures that does not exist….will not stay again

I called a few days before my arrival date. I was not informed that renovations were happening and that the pool was closed. My room was next to the rooms being renovated on the 2nd floor. Listening to saws and drills at 7:45-8am each day ruined it. Along with construction supplies filling the hallways

The pool and hot tub were closed with only notification when I got there and the whole place was under construction

We ended up requesting a refund and staying at a different hotel. We reserved a suite because we were travelling with two small children. That separate space was pretty necessary for us. We were informed at check in that our room style had been sold out and that we were in a regular room with a discount. We reluctantly accepted that, even though it wasn't ideal. Then when we got to the floor where our room was, half the rooms on that floor were being renovated. The entire floor smelled like paint and materials were scattered around the hallway. In the room, the WiFi was spotty, the TV wasn't connecting to any of the streaming options listed and one of the cabinets had a drawer that would not stay closed and kept opening into the narrow pathway between the cabinet and the beds. It was a significant tripping hazard, especially at night. By that point, the small inconveniences had added up to a big problem, and we decided to go elsewhere.

Both of the rooms I got had some work that still needed to be done. There was construction going on all over the hotel. Do one floor at a time. Then when it’s ready, open it up and do the next floor. My reservations were also messed up. I reserved 2- 2 queen bed suites. I got a room with two queen beds, and a room with one king bed. The toilet in our room was also broken. Big crack down the side of it and it wasn’t fastened to the floor.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again, it looks like they were in the middle of renovations also.

The hotel was making some improvements - though honestly it looked in good shape so not sure what needed to be done. Staff was very helpful.

There was a very helpful woman bringing out the food during your breakfast that was very friendly and helpful
