This is a sweet little hotel in a historical building, located a downtown that appears was once a prospering town. The folks at The Dilworth Hotel welcomed us late on a Sunday evening, and as far as we could tell kept the restaurant and the front desk opened until we arrived. The rooms were clean, large and comfortable. The beds were also comfortable. The historical downtown square was festively lite up at night which gave us a welcoming feeling. My hope is that this little town continues to get new retail and more businesses so that Texans, and other tourist can enjoy the area, and learn about the important history Gonzales played in the evolution of Texas becoming a state.
