Amber Springs Hotel

Pros: Excellent hotel for families with young kids, lots of activities onsite, all designed to keep kids busy all day long, breakfast was decent, dinner was ok (quality & service varied depending on the night), rooms were comfortable, lots of car parking, reception staff & tuck shop woman were very friendly. Also, close to the beach, waking trails and nearby shops. Cons: Glasses & cups weren't changed daily, 2-3 towels left daily in a family room for 4 people, wall was repaired but plaster not properly painted over, families can't use the pool before 9am and after 6.30pm, one movie was very outdated (American Tale from 1986 was nearly 40 years old!), two mains arrived cold on one night, Sensory Room was €20 for 45mins but no fee is mentioned on the website.

Outstanding venue to take your family on holiday, it was over and above our expectations. We were checked in by the friendly & efficient Aine who could not have been more helpful. The children loved their den & bunk beds, I loved the privacy of having our own bedroom space separate from the children & we all noticed how large & spacious the bathroom was. At dinner time we were given exceptional service with prompt delivery of children’s meals & a friendly smiling face serving us- I’m sorry I forgot to ask the young man’s name but he was fabulous. The swimming facilities were spotless & lots of fun for all four of us. We hired a childminder through the hotel called Trish & she was first class, we honestly felt so safe for the two hours we went to the bar without our children. While at the bar we were served by a lovely man who is made for his job as a barman. He even recommended me a drink that I wouldn’t have ever picked myself but it was delicious (a Caribbean fizz I think it’s called) He was working alone the hour or two we were there yet he managed to serve every single customer quickly & with a personal touch for everyone. My husband & I were so impressed by him. A very genuine & friendly man whose name I don’t know (sorry!) At breakfast the next morning we were served a hearty & delicious breakfast. The quality of food was amazing and I found it a lot nicer than some five star hotels we have been to in the past. There is a cinema, mini zoo, go-karts, games room for children and another for teenagers all within the grounds. The entire hotel was immaculately clean but by far it was the staff that made it an incredibly enjoyable experience for us all. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know & there isn’t any doubt we will be returning in the near future. Thank you to the Amber Springs Hotel for a lovely memorable staycation.

Amazing stay very inclusive hotel zen room was big hit for my girls who have additional needs I noticed they also had sensory movie time which we hope to visit next time we go back. We 💯 want to visit again soon during the summer Staff very friendly

Great family friendly hotel. So much to do for small kids. Our three boys loved it. Staff were very accommodating and couldn't have done enough for us. So friendly and kind to the kids. Food was very good and good choice of restaurants and food available. We stayed in the family den suite and it's perfect for kids. It was such a novelty for our kids. Already planning on coming back to visit again soon. Thanks Amber Springs

Attended Tina Turner Tribute in the Anber Springs in the function room. Tina was amazing & so was the security team The toilets in the function room had a really bad foul smell. I spoke to Security & asked to speak to a Manager. The Manager was very rude & told me if I wasn't happy with those toilets use the other toilets on far side . I asked was he going to close the toilets he said no & repeated for me to use the other. I said this is not good enough for a 4 star hotel he just walked away. Worse customer service

This by far was the best family holiday we’ve had in Ireland. It was perfect for our family of 4. The suite was so spacious and it was great to have a separate area for the kids to sleep. The kids loved the pool, the play zone, the cinema and the outdoor play area where a little farm was included! The restaurants were superb as well, very relaxed environment and food was delicious! The staff were super friendly and accommodating as well. We loved it so much we already booked in for December!

Just back from Amber springs, and I can not wait to return. We stayed for 2 night, 2 adults 3 children. Food amazing, lovely rooms. There's so much to do for kids, we didn't have to leave the hotel. Staff were very friendly. Recommend 100%, will be back soon

We stayed in the amber springs for two nights in May with our two year old and we had an amazing time. We stayed in one of the family den rooms and it was perfect for our needs. We asked at reception if they had sides that fitted onto the bed so our child wouldn’t fall out and they brought them up and affixed them within five minutes. The hotel has the most amazing facilities for kids, including an outdoor play area, a small animal farm and soft play. It also has plenty for older kids but I can’t review those as we didn’t use them. We ate in two restaurants during our stay; the burger restaurant and the Italian. The Italian was absolutely gorgeous; we had pizza and it was fab. The burgers in the burger restaurant were lovely, but the starters (potato skins) were overdone to the point that we couldn’t cut them with our knives. We would have mentioned it and gotten new ones but our toddler was overtired and not in the mood for waiting around so we were on a schedule 😂 Breakfast was lovely both mornings of our stay. Not too busy, plenty of food out at all times and a nice relaxed atmosphere. We also got the amber express train which was an extra charge of €3 each and well worth it. Really well done. It stops half way around for the kids to get off, have a little run around and try to find specified items that are hidden around the place which was really fun and all the kids really enjoyed. We used the pool one morning on our stay. Lovely pool facilities and although it was quite busy there was plenty of room for everyone (although the ladies changing room is quite small so was absolutely crammed. Towels are provided at the pool which was great. The one downside of our stay was an experience we had at soft play. The soft play is an amazing facility and so much bigger and better than we expected. We went three times on our stay and two times it was lovely and quiet. However, we went on the Sunday knowing it would be busy but it was absolutely disgraceful. There was kids way too old to be in there; they looked to be teenagers. They were running around throwing the balls from the ball pool around the place at each other as hard as they possibly could, hitting smaller children too. They climbed up on the netting on top of the soft play and were literally climbing on top at nearly roof height. We were worried they’d come through it on top of the smaller kids who were playing in there. We left as quick as we could as it was extremely dangerous. We spent a lot of time in there over our time at the hotel and I didn’t once see a staff member; maybe it would be a good idea to have someone poke their head on every now and again to keep an eye on what’s going on? Everything in the hotel was kept extremely clean, from the rooms to the playgrounds and restaurants. They also provide water fountains in the hall so you can fill up the jug from your room to reduce on plastic which is amazing. Our only regret is that we only had two nights as there was
