Very unique experience, totally worth it. Great hospitality, old traditional building, tasty complete kaiseki and breakfast included. Quiet enviroment around hotel, even bamboo forest. I'd stay for 2 nights instead of 1 to rest completely.

Excellent💕 Enjoy a different journey! Thanks! It was our first self-driving trip to Osaka for 5 days. We were not familiar with the road and it felt so far away, but with GPS navigation, we arrived at the hotel very quickly! I notified the hotel by email on the way, and when I arrived at the hotel, it was already 7:30 pm. In the cold weather, I was pleasantly surprised to see the hotel manager (owner?) waiting for us in the parking lot, helping to carry our luggage🧳🙏🏼Thank you so much You 💞

It was my first trip to a ryokan, and I was more satisfied than I thought. The bathroom was outside the room, but I didn't feel uncomfortable at all, and the hot spring was open 24 hours a day, so I was able to bathe whenever I wanted. Dinner is served as a course in your room. They bring Japanese home-style food, but the plating and taste are very light, so I was able to eat without feeling bitten in the middle. A yukata was prepared in the closet of the room, and I was able to bathe in the hot springs and take a walk in the garden wearing the yukata. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the 1st floor, not room service. When I went to the restaurant at the time I had decided to have breakfast, I ate the food set on the table I was guided to. Like dinner, the food was Japanese home cooking. After dinner, they put a futon in the room while you take a hot spring bath, and in the morning, when you go to breakfast, they remove the futon and move the table. Needless to say, the service was so good and the location was easy to find as it was close to the station. The garden in front was also well maintained and beautiful to look at. Above all, the staff warmly welcomed me, so I was able to stay comfortably and pleasantly.🩷

大阪の果ての、現状を忘れてくつろげる空間 堺から移転した建物であることがわかり、凄く風情のある建築物であるように思います。 女将さんはじめ、スタッフが凄く明るく丁寧なので、いいたびになりました。

Attention ! Very unfavorable cancellation conditions. Having had to cancel my night more than 2 weeks before the stay, and despite my various motivated requests, they were inflexible and collected the entire reservation. Sometimes there are unforeseen events during a trip!

It's right in front of the station, so it's easy to get there by subway, but it's difficult to get there by car. Aside from that, I was quite satisfied with the ryokan itself. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and some of them were British, so they could speak both Japanese and English. However, it was a bit disappointing that the hot spring was quite small. Usually, it's okay to use it alone, but sometimes it's a bit awkward to share it with other room guests.

It was one of my favorite places during my trip to Japan. Advantages 1. A ryokan with a Japanese atmosphere that I imagined 2. Relieve travel fatigue by bathing in hot springs 3. The staff are friendly and some speak fluent English. 4. Breakfast was very, very delicious 5. Enjoy leisurely as there are not many people. 6. Recommended for a walk in the morning disadvantage 1. Slight smell of bleach in the bathtub 2. The yukata provided makes me feel itchy when I wear it, so I sleep in my pajamas. 3. Kaiseki portions are smaller than expected and there are more surprising foods than delicious foods. Overall, I am satisfied and would like to visit with my family next time.

This was our first trip to Japan, ever, so we wanted to experience authentic and traditional Japanese hospitality, and what an amazing surprise we got. We rented the suite, which is the annex. You basically get an entire traditional japanese house, with a private onsen, all for yourself. From the moment you arrive to the ryokan, you get the warmest welcome you can imagine. You are taken to your guest house and introduced to everything around a house. They provide you with Yukatas so you can feel comfortable. For dinner, they come and serve you like a 5 or 6 course meal (I can't remember exactly how much they were), fully authentic seasonal japanese food. Once you are done, they come pick up the food from your dining room, and set up the futons were you will be sleeping, really comfortable futons. By morning, they come and serve the breakfast and store the futons. Did I mentioned the amazing private onsen all for yourselves? What an amazing experience onsens are. Now I understand why it is so embedded in Japanese culture. The only thing I regret is not staying another night, since we had a very tight Japan schedule. But if you ever go to Japan, at least once stay in a traditional Ryokan to enjoy tradition. And I cannot emphasize how great a decision would it be to choose Nanten-en. And if you can afford the suite, go for it. It is something you need to experience once in a lifetime at least.
