Der Hochkarhof verfügt über eine ausgezeichnete Lage neben dem Schigebiet. Man kann buchstäblich die Schi / das Snowboard unmittelbar vor dem Schistall anschnallen und direkt zu den Liften abfahren. Ein Hotelparkplatz ist dabei und die Zimmer sind einfach, aber sauber und zweckmäßig. Hervorzuheben ist jedoch die Freundlichkeit des Personals, welches den Gästen immer das Gefühl gibt, willkommen zu sein und keine „lästige Kundschaft“. Zu Mittag gibt es ein großes Selbstbedienungsrestaurant für alle Besucher mit einer guten Auswahl von hauptsächlich Hausmannskost, aber Hotelgäste werden auch hier genauso zuvorkommend bedient wie beim Abendessen; abgerechnet wird einfach bargeldlos mit Zimmernummer, welche dem Personal natürlich bekannt ist!
